I'm going and I agree I think this years line up is dreadful. I went last year and the line up was sensational! But oh well, I'll just spend the whole weekend staggering around.

I started the other thread and by god am i disapoointed STILL!

The festival is still not a sell out! You can still buy full weekend/thurs weekend camping tickets! This is compared to sellling out within hours of the final batch in previous years.

They really missed something with Glasto not being on! But they have failed to deliver and push themselves on the line up!

Last year we had 2 of the bands at T sub headling main stage that were at L+R. And one glasto headliner!

This year snow patrol- not even a headline act! Stone Roses who im seeing tomorrow, are just about everywhere this summer so nothing too special! And then Kasabian whilst headline quality is a bit repetitive for T.

This year there is alot of fodder for main stage. Far too many Pop acts and not enough quality rock acts. Last year we had MCR, Blondie, Pulp, Weezer, ATL. This year we have nicki autotune minaj who isnt worthy of a slot in any festival IMO. Hope she gets bottled!

Im sorry for the rant but its shockingly poor

I agree that this year's line-up looks weak and there are too many pop acts who cannot perform live. That said I wouldn't wish a bottling on any acts, even Minaj who I think is awful!

BCC coverage oddly does not mention the headline acts next Friday or Saturday - in fact Friday states that Tinie Tempah is the headliner, when he's actually headlining the NME Stage whilst Snow Patrol are on the Main Stage! Not impressed. I really hope the headliners get shown at some point, I really wanted to see Snow Patrol.

to me its a festival showing its appreciation for a band and part of the festival experience!
MCR got bottled a few yrs ago at leeds when the black parade came out. They were booed etc but then when they played the crowd was class! haha.
Nicki minaj to me is just horrible and makes me want to die inside!
I was in the pit last tear for Ke$ha and was surprised at the crowd reaction! was quite good. She wasnt bad live either!

I hope to god that some festival goes all out next year! Hopefully download/ glasto is up to their usual amazingness!

Dont get me wrong btw- pop/ r nd b is welcome at festivals but in smaller doses.
Im glad i can say ive sn jay z! It was a good show!
Likewise faithless!

I agree this years line up is awful, but I bought my weekend ticket the Thursday before (ie 2 days ago) last year, just a week before the event, from Ticketmaster, so it wasn't sold out really quickly last year either. They have too many tickets now since they expanded it after the crazy year a few years back when tickets were being shifted for stupid amounts. Now, just like last year my facebook has been filled with people shifting tickets under face value to get some money back.

Only acts I'm interested in this year are Nicki Minaj and Stone Roses really, I have tickets for Noel Gallagher at Edinburgh Castle so waiting for that to see him.

Other than that it's a lot of filler, who i'd probably watch but I think this year will be disappointing, and if it rains there isn't enough great music to make up for it like last year.

Variety at festivals is part of why they're great - trouble is the chart pop seems to have taken over this year and there's hardly any rock music left! I have no problem with having some pop acts at festivals if they can cut it live. People will knock bands like Kasier Chiefs and Keane who are on the bill this year, but at least they will play totally live and perform songs they have created themselves - no backing tracks, no miming, just proper live music.

Oh and agree on Faitless... I saw them at Doncaster Dome a few years ago and they were absolutely immense!

I'm going! I'm broadly happy with the line-up, and I'm happy with pop acts. I like pop as well as rock acts, so it's a good thing to offer more variety.

The main draw-back in this year's line-up is that I've seen a lot of the main acts before and when I last saw Stone Roses (many moons ago) they were awful, and I've no intention to repeat it.

I only wish they'd properly announce who is on which stage, so I can plan who I want to see, and prepare myself for who I'll miss with the inevitable clashes.
