But it all really fell apart in the finals scenes with Marcus but he finished it off and started stamping on it in the crying scenes afterwards. Ye Gods it was terrible, some of the worst acting I've seen, he just couldn't find the proper emotion and looked like a kid playing 'pretend'. Compare that to Marcus's wonderfully confused, tearful face in Maria's, they'd split up but he was at a loss to know how it had happened so suddenly and it SHOWED.

Now I know when I'm watching my soap that it's not real, but I don't need to have it shoved in my face that it's not by someone's am-dram wailings! (that's an insult to am-dram by the way.) IMO in future they need to play Sean to his strengths - funny or good support/listener to other people - I've never forgotten how great he was in supporting Carla and him and Eileen have some great scenes.

But please, no more crying

Exactly.

Ms. Cotton can't do drama when it is focussed on Sean. He's totally unconvincing when he's meant to be upset, annoyed or in any way emotional.

And what's with the constant arm-folding

Oh look, Tom Cruise is up for grabs again, I'm so excited. (NOT)

Saw Ben Price on TM today, looking very fetching in a full beard. Really suits him.
Thanks jade, no probs

I'll see what I can do.

Sunita can not do comedy. Love the Eileen/Steve combo, great that she's back where she belongs minus tiny fireman.

The rat business looked like a rewrite due to Sue's illness but it was enjoyable minus the fact the inspector definetly would've copped on even if he was as thick as Kirk.

I thought Tully was alright in the 2nd episode, he even had magic hair, Marcus is better off without him though.

I felt sorry for Mary. I hope she doesn't take advantage of Royston's kindness, no doubt she'll get some weird obsession with him.

Dreary has returned!

Same goes for Dev. I can't abide Jimmi Harkishnan's "acting".
I think that I have got to a place where certain characters can never ever give a good performance.
Tracey Barlow, David Platt, just to name 2. I have a soft spot for Dev because he's so daft.

Untill Anthony Cotton is required to play anyone other than himself, I will have to give him the benefit of the doubt and just stand with my arms folded.

Wrong.

The room is to be used by relatives and as such 'belongs' to the relatives. It is possessive. The room of the relatives.

Therefore the apostrophe should indeed be after the s, to show to show that it is a room for all relatives. If only one relative was able to use it at a time, then it would be Relative's Room. Therefore, Relatives' Room is correct.

In an ideal world Marcus and Maria would be perfect for one another. But then again if Marcus found out how Maria feels about him maybe he would consider going out with her. I know he’s gay but this is soapland and stranger things have happened! lol

How can a word be homophobic? It has no thoughts, feelings or opinions. What does it mean, anyway?

Right, so words can't be racist, either.
It's a homophobic term, look it up. It means a male who is used as a passive recipient of homosexual anal sex - not in the context of a loving relationship, but as an object, in prison etc.

The person who keeps using it on here obviously thinks they are being very sophisticated.

On the Sean subject .. OK, it's not riveting TV but it rings quite true to me and isn't really badly acted.

The dynamic of one partner being the driver of the relationship (Marcus) and overcoming the other's (Sean's) doubts, getting them to trust and relax into the security of it, only to then pull the rug from under them and decide it's not really what they want; Marcus's M Theresa syndrome, where he is supportive to comparative strangers but neglectful to his partner; and then, one partner pulling away and the other becoming clingy and desperate. All painfully true to life.

I agree with the poster who misses Sean being funny and supportive to his friends, but his emotional reaction to Marcus's betrayal (and it is that, although everyone has the right to change their mind) was understandable, even if his behaviour was ill-advised.

Nice. So that word is also misogynistic. Quite a haul that poster has!

Thanks for the definition; I didn't know that. And I can't say I've ever had occasion to look it up.

And I don't believe a word on it's own can be homophobic, racist, whatever; it depends entirely on the context. Just my opinion - I doubt whether it merits a debate.

I don't always concur with your posts, but I do agree about these.
