Avoid giffgaff

I've never seen such a bad network. You pay cheap you get cheap in my books. The customer services is dreadful 'ask an agent' takes days to get a reply and they don't know what they are talking about.

Then you go on the forums for help and of course everyone is telling you anything to earn a few quid in the freeloading community. Still my problem not resolved.

Send a message that my ported number does not work to one of there online educators and she was really rude. Was told it would take five to seven days before some got off there backside in there techinical support team to do pull there finger out and do some work.

Had to contact ofcom whom told me to demand a pac from them and they wouldn't saying they couldn't. Then ofcom told me that they must within two hours not eight days its took.

Simply terrible network. You pay cheap you get cheap. If anything goes wrong it seems no one has a clue what to do to sort your problems out. Back to Vodafone for me. Your better on the big networks that these cheap nasty networks.

I'm paying for unlimited web access, so far haven't been able to use it at all. I asked an agent for help and to their credit, I got a reply within 3 hours. Not that it helped resolve my issue though.
Network coverage is iffy too. I've had a couple of texts come through almost 24 hours after being sent.

How could they do it within 2 hours if you can't call them and an agent can take up to 48 hours?

They do have a basic phone system now for checking credit and one of the options in the menu tree is to request a PAC.

So you can't speak to a human being but that is a way of contacting them.

I've had PAC problems with them too recently
The last time I left, it was super-smooth.

I think it's partly a consequence of them having grown beyond super-savvy customers only so higher percentage of support required per user and also getting bigger means they've opened agent centres in India etc and the level of service just isn't as good as before.

GiffGaff is a cheap and for me, so far, reliable service. Although, I only use it on my personal phone and not my business one.
That said, they have gone down hill of late. The forums are full of suck ups and children who think GG can do no wrong.
If you get your Sim activated first time and have no need of any customer service then it's a good alternative. If you have to resort to the forums, your will to live may soon be sapped....
I have ceased to recommend it to anyone I care about....

I thought they where UK based never even thought they where in India. It might explain the terrible replies and how long it takes for someone to sort anything out.

Its cheap and nasty but not professional at all. If something does go wrong your literally in trouble with your phone. Been to Vodafone today back with them next week.

I have been on Giff Gaff since Last October and had no issues. The o2 coverage does have some blackspots where you lose
your signal however generally I think the coverage is pretty good and giff gaff represents good value for money.

Everytime i have contacted them, they have responded quite quickly and resolved the issue.

I won't be leaving them anytime soon anyway.

Been on giff gaff for around 6 months now and not had a single problem.

Only issue I had on starting was the data settings that the profile auto downloaded was incorrect, manually entered them based on the settings on the forum and I was away.

I'd say its good when you have no problems but might be a bit slow in sorting anything if you have to go through the agent system theve got setup

Always wary when a 'brand new' DS contributer starts off posting with a negative rant about a company. I use GiffGaff as a secondary service and its been fine for me, so much so that I am considering seriously using it as my primary service provider when my contract expires in August.

Same here with no problems over six or so months I was with them.

I would still be with them if I could have got a phone on contract with them or been able to afford the galaxy S3 SIM free.

I've been with Giffgaff for about a year now and never had any problems, i have also been to the forum and found the posters very helpfull, and have always got answers to any questions i have asked.

I have also got my mum on giffgaff and where she was paying £30.00 a month, she is now just paying out £10.00 a month.

Signed upto Giff Gaff yesterday. Sim activation took 2 mins and had no issues with internet data or phone signal. So far i'm impressed, long may it continue.

Been with giffgaff around 3 months now. Ok, I think O2's 3G signal isn't really up to scratch, but can't blame giffgaff for that. But paying only £10 a month is a big bonus.
Not sure why, but I would still hesitate to recommend people to use giffgaff. It's just when something goes wrong you have to wait days (took them 3 weeks to take the adult content block of my account) and I think some people wouldn't put up with that. Besides that I didn't have any other problems, so I can't really complain myself.
