Anyone got the Tango Update for Nokia Lumia yet?

Here's the current official UK availability list, which seems to suggest the orange and vodafone are rolling this out.

I've tried a Vodafone sim in my unbranded, unlocked Lumia 710 phone and not been able to force an update, nor has their been and update via Zune.

Will MVNO customers just as GiffGaff, Ovivo, Virgin etc receive updates when the main networks deploy them?

Anyone received there Tango update and if so what Network are you on and are you using a branded / locked handset?

As with all things Nokia any updates depends on the handsets product code not whatever SIM is being used at the time. Post your product code and I'll see if I can find out anything about it if you want.

Found a code in the battery hatch which seems similar to those on the Nokia website: 059N2L6 with a further 4no digits after this. Looking at the code on the website it says:

Country Variant - Update Available.

Confused now

I have a GiffGaff SIM in mine, shouldn't I have received this by now then? I have had it plugged into Zune also.

I'm still on OS Version: 7.10.8107.12070

059N2L6 is the Black UK CV so no issue there and 1600.3031.8773.12121 does appear to be available for this product code.

They are probably doing a staggered rollout incase there are any problems, just make sure "Notify me when new updates are found" is enabled under Settings > system > phone update.

Thanks for this.

Tango for UK phones

I've used the zune "disconnect" trick to force the update to both my Lumia 800 (unbranded) and LG Optimus 7 (Vodafone).

You need to do it twice to becuase it applies the 8112 update first.

I was pleasantly surprised it worked for the LG because there has not been any news on that model for a long time.

As mentioned previously, they will be doing a staggered roll-out so be patient or try the trick mentioned above (you can search for it on internet)

My Lumia 800 got the update yesterday on 3. I've only been with them for a few months and they seem to be pretty quick at pushing out updates.

Thanks, I thought this thread had been buried but just noticed it on the front page now.

I found the solution a few nights ago on another forum. As you say I had to force the download using the "disconnect" method.

Took me ages, my timing must be shocking.

The Lumia has three downloads once you get the hang of the forced method.

Step one was 8112 - Needs to be forced
Step two is 8773 - Needs to be forced
Step three is the Nokia Update - automatically follows 8773 no forced update required.

Not seen anything of the new Nokia camera app to compliment Tango yet.

Tango also introduces app indexing when the user installs 45 or over apps for easier searching.
