Laptop problems

Hi everyone,

For the past few days I haven't been able to use my laptop propely .The following two options come up shortly after pressing the power button ..

Launch Startup Repair
Start Windows Normally

When I press Launch Startup Repair it goes to a blue screen with the following message:

Quote:
STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}. The session manager failed to create protected prefixes system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of (loads of 0s). The system has been shut down.
When I press Start Windows Normally it just goes to the loading bar and stays there for 5-10 minutes until it restarts.

The laptop is a Dell Studio 17 which I bought back in 2008. It was quite pricey at the time and i've had a few teething problems ever since I bought it.

Any advice would be much appreciated

Sounds like a problem with your windows installation, it is unusual for it just to stop working however.

I suggest that, assuming you have the original installation disk, you run that to repair the windows installation.

That should hopefully get everything working again whilst keeping your files and settings intact
