Ooh I've not done one of these for ages! Both really strong sing offs actually; Mary gave a beautiful and haunting rendition, whilst GvB were exciting, unique and interesting. I will admit that there is one act who I'm dying to see more of despite a blip last night, so therefore I save

Let me just start by saying well done to Mary and Dylan, as that was a great choice in the sing-off and would perhaps have been a better choice for the duet than Maria Mena imo. Girl V Boy, it's such a shame that you have ended up here but I can't say I'm surprised after the reaction from the judges last night. However, I do really believe that you guys have so much more to give to the competition. You are really so unique with what with the male/female duet group dynamic and you have so much potential. The song choice was not right for you guys and I can see that now with the judge's criticism and have had a rethink of what I want to do with you and have come up with a list of songs that I'd want to choose for you in future so I think that you could recover from this set back quite easily and be back at your best and that sing-off performance was proof of that. Of course, I'm saving Girl v Boy, good luck Mary & Dylan.

I’m not sure whether this is the exact right bottom two, but let’s just go with what it is. I thought one act was affected by the quality of the videos posted and I also thought the female in that act didn’t necessarily suit the voice of Lykke Li, but the male definitely suited Miike Snow – who we’ve seen quite a few times in this competition already! I would say that the Mary song choice was nice, but I cannot help but wish we had saw something more vocal-based, which is what Mary is all about in my opinion. So, from the potential I have seen with these two song choices, the act I am going to save is Girl V Boy as I feel they had a minor slip this week and that they can easily recover.
Sorry, Dylan.

Thank you so much to Zak and Pete for saving GVB, I was so expecting them to be gone afterl ast night! Huge commiserations to Dylan and Mary however, I thought he did a great job with her and definitely made her interesting and modern and I did think the sing-off choice was miles better than the Maria Mena song.
Looking forward to finding out the theme now! |

Week 3 Theme!
Genre Gurus! Remember on Idol Factor there was the Matchmakers theme? Well this is similar! 1. There are six genre gurus, each representing a different genre. 2. They are there to help the judges find songs! Judges are allowed to suggest songs, and so are the gurus, but the gurus get the final say on each song choice. 3. Each act must consult TWO genre gurus this week, therefore having two songs each. HERE ARE THE GURUS: Louise (Strictly_Irish) - Mainstream Pop Carlisle - Indie Pop Gav - Rock and experimental Aliyah - R&B and Hip-hop Kevin - Soul Jess (I've Got Class) - Acoustic There may be some contention between judges and gurus as to what falls into which genre. In that event, please bring the issue to me and I'll help you sort it out! The next show is on Monday at 7:30pm (sorry it isn't earlier but I have to work this weekend!). Please can all songs be sent to me by Sunday night! Happy guruing
