Desktop PC features

What unique features would you say a desktop pc has over a laptop, mobile phone and a games console. It's for college but I cannot think of anything other than that you can build a pc to cater for your need and it is customisable. Can anyone think of anything else?

A bigger screen, much easier to service and more bang for your bucks.

Upgradability is the main difference, although I guess that can come under customisable/serviceable.

It's part of an assignment for entry onto an ICT course in September. I have to write a paragraph on who uses a desktop pc, what it's used for and what unique features it has over a laptop, mobile phone and games console.

One topic: You could look at prices and functionality and upgradeability of said equipment over last 10 years.

Ideas? You mean answers. If it only needs a paragraph can you really not think up the differences yourself?

Faster processors for less money spent
You can clear the dust out FAR easier
No rechargeable battery needed, so no waiting to use the desktop until your battery arrives
More powerful hardware for less money

There you.

No I mean ideas and yes I can think up the answers myself, I said 2 of them in my OP. I suggest that if the people who don't want to post and give these ideas just not post at all. Why post replies and cause friction, why not go and use your energy on something more useful because this isn't.

Unique is expandability and ease of of fixing the thing if it goes wrong.

processing power is not unique as there are laptops that got the same processing power as desktops if you want to pay for them.

My reason for staying with desktops is expandability internally, try sticking 4 hard drives inside a laptop.

on processing power. i'm pretty sure you can buy a desktop more powerful than any laptop. and for not that much money.

it's bang for buck that is the main thing for me. closely followed by the possibility to upgrade and expand.

Plenty of USB ports.
Ability to put cards in (e.g. I am about to buy a USB 3 card with 4 ports).
Much greater power supply so can support more and better prips and sound and graphics cards.
In general, much more upgradeable.
More scope for hot desking.
More difficult to steal.
More tailorable for each person's needs (e.g. choose your own keyboard).

That is a few mate. Nothing you could not think of yourself. You need to sit down and do some hard thinking when you get asked a question. People who work in IT are the ones who can answer questions, not ask them.

One advantage is that if any part goes wrong it is not necessary to take the whole PC in for repair, unlike with a laptop or all-in-one desktop (like the iMac). All you have to do is replace the dodgy part. You can also choose your own monitor, keyboard and mouse. They're also ideal for gamers as they can build a rig powerful enough to play all their games.
