Collection 1 and all Black Ops DLC is also this price.
Quite amazing really, Collection 2 has only just come out on PS3. Part of the proceeds are going to their Call of Duty Endowment thing. |

Black Ops DLC is worth it. Some of the best MP maps on the game were via the DLC.
MW3 DLC - Meh. |

I was getting bored of the same maps all the time.
As a sniper there are only a few places on each map that are good for sniping and eventually people realise you go to those same places all the time. So it is good to find some new spots on the new maps. I like Aground for the long range shots you can get. A head shot is very satisfying when the head is just a pin point in your sights. Sanctuary and Oasis aren't so good for sniping. Oasis even had a palm leaf on the ground blocking a good line of sight. |

Can't wait for Black Ops 2. Back to normality I hope. No laggy shit. No un-even maps. Full on symmetry so games are fair. I just hope they don't get too creative. |

Crash, Overgrown, Strike, Crossfire, District, Bog, etc were all great maps. Even Chinatown and Creek were pretty good. Sadly, the maps in MW3 are a long, long way from that standard. Rubble-strewn rat-runs that bore the fook out of me. I prefer to snipe myself - I hadn't realized until recently when I went back to CoD4 just how easy sniping is on MW3. One shot kills for anywhere in the upper torso. Only a shot to the head in CoD4 would do it in one shot. Quote:
![]() Too much pandering to campers and d1ck-scopers these days. CoD4 was designed before the franchise went huge. Since then it's all been downhill. A victim of its own success

Dead Silence Pro, for me, was the best perk on the game. As it was the most aggressive Perk, you could run and gun around the map, jump from high places when in a tight spot.
Now Sit-Rep Pro has absolutely killed it. I know its for balancing reasons, but I don't think every thing needs to have a counter. They've done nothing to counter assassin, assassin should at least show up on Advanced UAVs. Why kill the point of Dead Silence?

If they've already discounted the 'drops' where does that leave us CoD Elite mugs money wise ? A free camo and a shitty green founder emblem aren't really worth it. They messed up so damn badly with the way they structured the DLC it beggars belief. 1 or 2 at a time is beyond useless. Forget monthly drops and give us four/five maps at least 1 month before full release. With that said, these are by far the worst multiplayer maps I've had the misfortune to play.
Rant over. See you next month for another one

The only real benefit is in being able to get a hold of the maps before regular non-Elite subscribers. However, considering the poor quality of the maps in general that's a very hollow victory. In hindsight Elite has absolutely not been worth it. Out of all the content that's either been released already or is in the pipeline, the only one that I'd have been overly bothered about getting is the Terminal map, which everyone is getting from free anyway.
Anyway, Terminal's been dated - 17th July for Elite subscribers and then 18th July for non-Elite subscribers. 360 only for now, but to follow on the PS3 and PC as well. |

The same happened with the bonus free Face Off maps. Also Mark Rubin said they're only half way through their content and to ignore the content calendar because it isn't correct and as much as he yells at Activision to get it updated, they don't do it. |

Oh, and the discount is a July 4th thing with the proceeds going to their charity thing, as nice as it is that they wanna do something like that it is a bit of a ball-kicker, especially as the PS3 has only just got Collection 2.

Two MP maps + mission this month, 2 missions + classified for next month and 3 MP maps in September. There is also allegedly more and the Classified will not be a Face Off map as Mark said there'll be no more of those. That makes 12 MP maps, 8 Spec Ops missions, 7 Face Off maps, and one confirmed item yet to be announced. Black Ops DLC gave us 12 MP maps and 8 Zombies maps. |

Has anyone noticed that the Spanish players seem to be the dirtiest players out there?
Whenever I get the unfortunality of having some in a lobby they always camp, use 'cheap' guns, run around with rocket launchers and noob tubes active. So bloody annoying. |

I'm so bored with Cod in general i'm making the switch to BF3 soon.
I'm just sick to death of the camping, the clan camping, same crap maps coming up, being forced into games of OIC when what i really want is constant AoN. A change is needed. Pity i have to give EA some money now. Boo! I know they camp in BF3 too, but i'm just sick of the sight of MW3. I can't be the only one. |

I haven't played MW3 since the end of May. To be honest, I played Black Ops today and the whole concept of shoot-kill-die-shoot-kill-die is just boring to me, at least right now. Plus having to contend with the essay of issues that the games have doesn't help.
I prefer BF3 purely because it offers something a little more than the above formula, such as vehicle play, a higher sense of team-work, stronger maps etc. It's far from perfect but it looks perfect when put up against MW3. |

Most of the top players on free-for-all are French and Spanish, most upload to youtube. Watched some of their vids, absolutely shocking. Tactics of the cheapest kind. These are gamers that have put 1000's of hours into the game. And they all use the PP90M1 with Rapid Fire, usually with Akimbo FMG9's as a secondary. And they'll hide in a hotspot. Aiming down sights, usually laying prone at the top of a stairway. I've come across many of them online, and one thing a lot seem to do, when caught out in the open, is the jump shot with a SMG (Usually the fore-mentioned PP90M1), guaranteed headshot for them, and makes it hard for you to get the kill as they're in the air. But its extremely hard to do with a regular joypad. How many of us are going to be 60 quid for a special FPS joypad, with the jump button underneath? Cheap guns, cheap tactics all round. |

What I'm missing on MW3 is a sense of stealth play.
I prefer games where you have to sneak around and get kills without being seen, such as Syphon Filter. Is Battle Field like this? I wasn't keen on the campaign mode on BF. |

Battlefield is certainly best played more stealthily than COD. If someone from even a huge distance "spots" you, then you are highlighted to the whole enemy and generally cannon fodder. So, it does pay not to get spotted, but you dont actually know you've been spotted is the thing. Nowadays most of the tanks etc have optics though, so they see you behind walls, buildings etc.
There is a HUGE learning curve with BF over COD though. The game is massive in not only map size, but things to learn in it. I'm not sure its a Syphon filter (I've never played that), its still a FPS when it boils down to it. I hated MW3 but on Black Ops, I preferred HC S&D as that was more stealthy I felt. |
