Mind you I would never class Mike Reid's version of The Ugly Duckling as much cop.

I'm not sure how high this charted but it was by a man not famous for his singing and there were a lot of copies in Woolworth's bargain bins for months afterwards

Terry Wogan - "Floral Dance"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElnCI1fkfFM

And if that's bad here is an absolute horror from Belgium. Issued on CBS on the continent, it was issued here on Decca's LONDON label in 1974, by that time Decca were on the way out.

Ronald & Donald - Couac couac (1974)
Not sure if this charted but easily one of the worst records ever released - unless you have "Clap Your Hands" by Hughie Green & Monica Rose....

The things you can get from house clearances never cease to amaze me...

My grandparents had a Hughie Green LP of some concert he did at Skegness in 1974. It was abysmal with him attempting to sing The Happy Wanderer in a comedy German accent.
However, we are here to mainly praise some of the one hit wonders of this period and another one I consider quite good was Chris Spedding.

I think this group class as "one hit wonders", I don't remember any others
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPfSMN-xY24
Jigsaw - "Sky High" (1975)(on the short lived Splash label - did they issue anything else?)

One of the band wrote the only hit for another "one hit wonder" group who were on "Opportunith Knocks"
Candlewick Green - "Who Do You Think You Are" (1974)

I have this on Decca, never seen a BASF pressing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evZbeUAMoYg

You must remember Patrick Hernandez
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2Tpllz8E48
can you see Madonna on the video?
He might have squeezed a second hit out of the B side "I give you Rendezvous"

Camberwick Green were a bit like the Grumbleweeds, they were a comedy and singing group, not bad actually live.

I think they appeared in Blackpool several times although I never saw them. This was about the same time as another group who did much better were appearing live - Smokie - although they weren't one hit wonders.

Their follow up was Girls Girls Girls. Big hit - I'm too lazy to check.

Yes. I think I once recorded 'Girls Girls Girls' off the radio. Not as agood as 'A Glass of Champagne' though.

Sailor didn't have that many hits as far as I know.

Never was all that keen on the disco era , but always loved this track , good to see the girls actually playing their instruments , so not your usual stereotype of the time .

A Taste Of Honey - Boogie Oogie Oogie

This was a #1 hit stateside in the early 70s, but this is a piece of Motown pop at it's finest!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2cQ47VVzU0

I have to admit "Ernie, the fastest milkman in the west" by Benny Hill is a guilty pleasure

Talk of contrasts! Float On was one of the worst songs of all-time (as you seemed to indicate too MushymanRob), while Ally's Tartan Army is my fave footie song of all-time!

We have that pleasure to come if you are watching 1977 Top of the Pops - right in the middle of the punk era - how did this make number one?

Saw them live a couple of times just before punk erupted and they were really good. Very accomplished musically but not what the punters were looking for at the time.
