Euro Traveller works out too expensive

Vodafone Euro Traveller works out incredibly expensive if you are mainly a data user with varied roamed call use.

Data Traveller cost only 10 pounds a month for 25mb a day. In my case calls varied but in total monthly bill if I was roaming for a month was never as high as what it would cost with Euro Traveller - around 90 pounds!

As Vodafone removed the old services without giving the option to keep them, many customers and I are fighting to be released from our contracts as they are now pretty much useless when abroad and we chose Vodafone due to these services being available. Vodafone, however, are not allowing this and so complaints have been lodged with Ofcom, the Ombudsman and BBC Watchdog.

You can see the discontent here:

I urge all of you who are unhappy not to just sit back and take this kind of treatment. The more Vodafone see that people are upset and their reputation go down the drain, the more they are likely to worry and listen!

I agree Higgins. EU Roaming was the one area in which Vodafone stood head and shoulders above every other network.
The £10 a month Data Traveller was an excellent option giving 25MB data and 10 texts per day, and the ability to switch it on when needed was the reason I went with Vodafone and not three when my contract came to an end.

There was no suggestion this service would be withdrawn when I called to renew. Now the fees have effectively risen by 840%, and I've had to turn the clock back 5 years and started carrying several sims around with me, to avoid the new charges. Messy for me, and short sighted from Vodafone as they are losing cash and reputation. Sort it out please.

Agreed.
They are also being sly by saying because these services were not "core" services (despite them being why I upgraded again with them) and therefore cannot end my contract without paying.

I don't think that's Sly at all.

I've never been a Vodafone customer and I could tell that would be the case without having to check.

Your contract only covers the part of the service that you MUST pay for.
