So being the little shortar$e that I am, I was stretching to my full length trying to reach it, do ing that little jump & grab motion to try & get it when a very lovely tall, gentleman went 'let me get that for you'. I don't think he expected it to be the WW!

so on that note, let me post the Victoria Wood song

there are various links to youtube versions of it too,!
Hello all, thanks for letting us know GJD. How very thoughtful that gentleman was. I hope I can buy one in Tesco on my way back home and can reach the shelf myself. I'd feel lucky if I don't bump into close friends when I pick up the WW, otherwise I'd be . That's Matt's fault making me doing things I rarely do....

Sorry Rita but I do think it was rather the reverse - almost no-one cared that The One Show moved Wimbledon is a once a year event and as a public service broadcaster more people care about that being shown than a daily magazine show

I know it's annoying for us but they'd have had a lot more complaints if they hadn't moved the match. Probably including accusations of anti-Scottish bias as Tim Henman's matches were always shown on BBC1

Good afternoon!

Quite a thuddy article in WW! Not sure if it's a re-hash or not! Most of the content we know about already except for the detail about him playing Vronsky in Anna Karenina at drama school. I see there's a new AK film coming out in September so it'll be interesting to see that! It has been serialised on the telly a couple of times - think one version caused a bit of a rumpus as it was rather explicit for the times.

Anyway, the front cover is lovely and the inside pic is of Mr B with his fuschia shirt on, dark jacket, strapping on his hands and the gymnastic rings dangling around his ears, that is, the pic that was his twitter avatar before he sadly left us. Boohoo.

Very much behindhand today as I have heaps to do today before meeting up with classy ladies tomorrow. Got the shopping in, and then off to see mum.

Had a very bad night, so feel a bit wrecked today, but seeing our man being front cover material again has really cheered me up. Long may El Presidente reign!!

Sorry I deleted my last post. It didn't make a whole lot of sense and I didn't have time to correct it at the time.

Basically what I wanted to say is that it shouldn't be offensive to people if they just stick to the schedule - i.e. we know we can see the end of the match if we switch to BBC2, and everyone else can see what they want to see (especially if they're not there and have tried to record). I know they always do switch if it's something considered important, but there's no logic to doing so in my view. As for whether more people would have complained had they not changed things - well we'll never know.

Have just been rewatching Monday's TOS with Will Young. Love the fact when talking about supermarket trolleys Matt says he's danced a few times with a trolley himself, and that you cant help do that. I can honestly say I've never, ever had the urge to dance with a supermarket trolley myself! Bless.

Evening all

Got my woman weekly, nearly has a panic in tesco as i couldn't see it, only a small pile left on the shelve, so i missed it on the first look. So grabbed my copy and went through the self service tills without to much embarrassment

Great tos tonight, ed was a funny and entertaining guest, really joined in the with madness that is the one show, with the slugs hate them or love them, i hate them nasty things, plant murders.
At least with the slug stand off we had a standing up matt very nice.
Matt looked very nice, lovely shirt with lots of wow's, very bouncy and was having alot of fun with ed, as was alex. Quite a few puns in there tonight, nice leg crossing and knee hugging, fab show

Hellaw all

Dashes in waving frantically - trying to catch up on all these FBB.

WW you say - off to the big smoke tomorrow so may be able to grab a copy at Victoria station. It will be a little light reading for the journey home. Hope there are a nice piccie or three. Missed T1S (again) ho hum - life gets in the way .

Have to admit I did think the Beeb made the right decison re the tennis but it was a tad inconvenient.switching between channels but one has to be very British about these things Stiff upper lip and all that.

Hi all - this was linked on twitter so I thought I'd cross-post here for people: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7sqZ...feature=g-hist - Matt and Mrs B at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in a Mercedes promotional video (they're on for about 3 seconds at 2:59 ). Very nice red mercedes gull wing car they're sitting in

I guess they did attend as guests of Mercedes and it's nice he's "known" enough to get that sort of promotional invitation now. Probably hasn't got a free Mercedes out of it though (other than toys for the kids)

I got my Woman's Weekly from Tesco. It's interesting to see the cover boy on a woman magazine and the cover story was written by a man. Matt talked about his kids' interests in the interview is new to me. Those pairs of lovely green eyes in the second pic inside are staring at ....speaking to the readers....that's how I felt, I don't know why though. Hope FBB is your daily dose SG.

I do think Matt is mysterious.

Thanks for the link KK. Nice to see a glimpse of Matt and Nicola sitting in red mercedes. Matt was standing at some point. I saw James Martin and Ben Fogle at the arrival, seems they were among the guests being invited. I want to know what was the Ball like.

Time for bed......

Thanks Emma for the behind-the-scenes Jubilee concert pics, they are great.

And will have a quick delve into KK's pics - sure to be some thudalicious ones lurking there.

Enjoyable OS this evening with Edd B although even more funny peculiar than usual, especially the slug theme.... And the programme ended with this nugget of information.....slugs eat dog poo.....hope no-one was eating....

And thanks to KK for reposting the link to the Goodwood vid featuring Family B. I had found some phawtaws from the weekend but there were none of Matt so it's lovely to have just a glimpse of him at the festival. It was certainly an A-lister event and that means our man was thought high calibre enough to be on the receiving end of Merced*s hospitality . He certainly deserved it and was a good way to end his holiday.

Well, just preparing myself to meet up with some of the classiest ladies I know tomorrow, and put everything in place for OH so he's got some sustenance for tomorrow Can't let him starve........

So CCM to all....... xx

The Woman's Weekly article was quite interesting. Whilst there's a fair amount of repetition it does look like an actual interview took place and there was some good expansion on existing points. Stuff I found interesting:
  • Matt being described as "driven". I think he's a lot more ambitious than some people give him credit for and I suspect behind the scenes a bit less "nice"
  • The bullying story is gradually being fleshed out more. Last year when he first spoke about it he didn't mention hitting the bully. I read between the lines of what he did say and figured he had fought back but I think most people didn't at that time so maybe he decided to be more explicit about it. Maybe he will eventually be comfortable to talk about dyslexia soon as there's a gradual "opening up" to the press?
  • When he said he specialised in gym I'd have expected him to name 1 or 2 bits of equipment - not all 6! Don't know why but I'd always thought he didn't like the rings . He had the potential to do the all-around and that's fantastic. Also explains why he's so good on commentary as he has experience of all the apparatus
  • I know doing an acting degree you will end up doing Shakespeare and other classics. But he could have taken it easy and had supporting roles. Instead he goes for Henry VI and Vronsky in Anna Karenina. It must have been hard work for him and just shows his determination. (Plus bonus image of him in cavalry uniform )

I've wondered about this for a long time kk. You sometimes see posts where he's criticized for not being able to read the autocues and tripping up over his words and I'm very tempted to step in and tell people that actually he doesn't use the autocue because he's dyslexic. On the one hand I think we shouldn't mention it as he doesn't, but on the other hand, remembering the time he actually did mention it on twitter and was told bluntly not to tell us all about his handicaps (remember?) he might have wanted to bring it up, but hasn't done so because of that incident. Maybe he would be happy if someone else mentioned it so it would be out in the open but not introduced by himself? He did start to talk about it a little tentatively at the GW meeting last year I recall.

He was told by one ignorant idiot (the same moron who thought criticising people's spelling and grammar was fun) to shut up. Most people who replied were surprised and sympathetic. It's always easy to remember the negatives but most replies were supportive

I wasn't at Gardener's World but from the comments he didn't just tentatively mention it - he was very open about autocue being his worst nightmare. I think he was asked about nightmares on live tv like autocue going wrong and just replied that as he was dyslexic autocue itself was his worst nightmare. He then spoke about using bullet points to remind himself of what he needed to say instead. Think he may have also mentioned that writing his own scripts helped.

So I think if it does come up he'd probably be ok about it but I've also avoided saying it as I don't want it to be seen as an excuse. It's frustrating because I'm sure that's part of the jubilee problem - they swapped stuff around and tried to go to autocue for him and Sophie...

Morning all.

Horrible weather, grey, overcast and at the mo it's not raining.

Lovely little interview in women weekly, he was doing all 6 apparatus, that takes some doing for a young boy, must have really worked hard at it, would have been upsetting to give it up due to his health, but things turned out well as he still gets to be involved with gymnastics. He must have a mean punch to knock someone out at 8 or 9, can just imagine a little skinny matt decking the bully.
Bless he does drink, gets drunk and does daft things. A drunk matt back flipping

Great clip of him at goodwood with mrsb, looking smart, enjoying having a sit in a flash car. Looks as if they had a good time

That is the problem! If the right occasion arises perhaps. At least it would be an excuse made by others and not himself, and would be more widely known. And yes it is easy to remember the negative, especially when it concerns yourself. We probably all do that to some extent and I do think Matt is very sensitive.

I haven't seen an actual confirmation but I believe he's filming in some rather soggy woods in Shropshire with the team. I believe they're having a bit of a Countryfile Olympics (archery is mentioned)

Poor rating for The One Show last night!

19:00 - The One Show: 3.15m (17.8%)

I'll be glad when summer is out the way and normal service can be resumed

Soggy woods.... in his wellies? Archery is one of my favourite sports so hope Matt is there to do his part of CF Olympics theme. Would he be like 21st Century Robin Hood if he does?

A bit more modern than Robin Hood . http://twitter.com/EatonManor/status...627968/photo/1

Though there is a picture from the Blue Peter days of Matt dressed up as Robin Hood
