As others have said the enabled by dates are fluid, to say the least.
Ours was due to be done by 30th June 2011, that was put back to 31st December but I had mine installed on the 19th December. I would be extremely sorry to go back to what I had and apart from one outage early on it's been rock solid. |

Yes, all the June ones were pushed back - most to September.
But, that's usually when they're all done. So every exchange in the September window will be done by September. Their Twitter is the best place for info, they update when new exchanges are 'switched on'. https://twitter.com/Openreach_news |

i have heard a couple of cabs have gone up over the other side of the city, so they have started here, but I have also heard that it will be around mid August when they are switched on.
Makes no difference to me. |

Finally my exchange has been given a date of 2013. Now I've heard some Cabs can't be upgraded, what do these Cabs look like ? Now what happens then, the street never gets faster broadband ?

What does the FTTP infrastructure look like? Is it the same cabs as FTTC?

I think it's more to do with where the cab is situated and how many (or few) properties are connected to it. Demographics may be another factor - if most of the people in your area are octogenarians then there would likely be low take up of SFBB in that area. |

According to some people some work is being done in some parts of the city, but nothing around here, not even any plans on the council website. If Bt don't think there is enough people in the street or area to make their money back then nope, no faster broadband. i got a two year contract with a wireless provider now, so I got at least two years to decide if I want to go for fibre. |

Would that not screw with the government targets for super fast broadband access even more, and more importantly the point of government funding. Quote:
I am confident they will do my area, as it's high in population compared to other parts of the village connected to the exchange. |

Out of interest I checked what the fibre status was there and whilst the exchange is now enabled to my surprise none of that area had been done. It would seem that density doesn't have much to do with it, nor demographics of a particular area. I wonder if length to exchange is the key? Kinda glad I moved now! |
