How else are they to demonstrate their strengths if not by standing up for themselves. It's just a shame none of them seem to have the minerals (cockney accent implied ) to fend him off and put him in his place - as an equal.
That would be a joy to watch - and I haven't given up hope of that happening.

I dont like the way he tries to hide himself.

Whenever hes angry he storms to the DR or goes to clean a room on his own; its like hes following the Jay McKray plan only hiding his anger and the antics.

He's just suppressing himself and taking control to ensure hes in the H/L. When he comforted Caroline, he made sure his body wasnt covered by the quilt and that his hair looked okay....

Something 'wel dodge' about him

Some woman starts going on about how "no women like them" my first question is why?

It's the sisterhood thing.

Steady Wee Tinkers.

I know it's a Friday and all that.

I see nothing wrong with him as a person, or HM, but he seems extremely DULL. Humorless, jokeless, laughless.

But I personally like the fact, that he keeps his temper under control. I liked him confronting Arron over the dip in the pool. His one big downfall for me is the fauxmance he started on day 3.

Ahh.. Poor Lauren. I think the reason that women don't get on with her is primarily because she doesn't signal appropriately. She doesn't seem to be socialized to function outside of Jersey or her group of friends at university. The second reason, if we're being honest, is that if she did signal appropriately she'd be a force to be reckoned with - she has a great body, a nice face (if she learned to control it!) and she's a little fighter. Most women (the young one's, at least) would find that threatening.

As for Ashleigh, WTF?! Each to their own, I guess.

Of course. Sorry.

Will save it for Saturday.

Good lord, if I suggested smashing back doors to Mr T he'd have the sledgehammer out and be perusing a copy of 'DIY Projects: Build a conservatory in a weekend'.

Ask him, with a straight face, if he'd like to smash your back doors in. See if he gets violent or amorous. My guess would be the latter (exhibited by raising his eyebrow(s) and/or grinning like a schoolboy).

I saw her family (Lauren) on BOTS.

Not sure if it's the Jersey thing so much as "living in a candy covered land where everybody is so nice it makes your teeth ache".
Her family were sweet enough to give you diabetes.

She's georgeous, her sister is georgeous, her mother is georgeous, her father is so nice you do a doubletake and then there's a grandmother who wouldn't be out of place in a fairy tale.

Seriously, it was like watching some alternative plain of existance. No wonder she's not liked, coming from such perfection and being so perfect is a lot for a person to take.

Kind of hope there's something nasty lurking in the woodshed. Otherwise the rest of us are doomed.

I don't think either she or her family are sugar coated or trying to pretend to be. They looked pretty darned feisty to me.

I just honestly thought they were very, very nice.

Bit extreme but what on earth did they expect from BB?

But it kind of underlines the unworldliness that seemed to me to come across.

He doesn't seem to be malicious, he's not in the same league as Connor & Aaron, he just comes over as a complete dick, bit of a Brent character.

I think his veneer has cracked a bit at last, being perfect all the time must be hard work, and now he's losing the plot a bit I like him more. Not enough to win mind you and as long as he doesn't go back to strutting and preening.

It's interesting that people see being controlled as a bad quality, when it's actually a very good one.

Purely in regards of the House, it was a lot calmer when Luke S had a firm hand on the shopping list - although there were minor disputes each week there were nothing out of the ordinary. Compare that to one week of Conor in control and...kaboom.

I like Luke S - yes, he has faults but who doesn't in there? The main reason he's disliked on here is because he doesn't get on with the forum chosen one. If he does start to change his attitude towards Deana then I think the forum's opinion will change of him too.

Without conformers society would fall to pieces, but I prefer those with a bit of rebelliousness in them, especially in the BB house.

There are hms I dislike more than Luke S and about 6 I like more.

He's too obsessed with his body for my taste and the cynical showmance does not work in his favour. His self appointed alpha male role also irritates as he seems very controlling.

You seem to post this nonsense in every thread you visit

The reason people dont like Luke S is pretty evident and has been explained in here.

His gameplan is really good though, compared to the other knuckleheads.

Luke A "what a f*cking tosser"

I do think those against the forum favourite do get a rougher ride on here that those who get on with them. It's human nature - I give short shrift to those Housemates who don't get on with my favoured Housemates so it's just one of those things. If he was part of Deana's group I do think he would be more liked on here and maybe with good reason.

You know not once since this BB has started has anyone given Luke S and Ashleigh the benefit of the doubt.

That kind of makes me wonder how much is what people are seeing and how much is going along with the concensus.

You have to admit, it's pretty unusual that a behaviour viewed by thousands, a behaviour that has no hard and fast rules, is universally interpretated in the same way.

In my OP I separated my opinion from the facts for that very reason, and I'm more than willing to accept that their relationship is possibly real. However, Luke's thumbs up to the mirror while Ashleigh wasn't looking, his general disinterest in her and his lack of enthusiastic body language points to him either not taking the relationship seriously because it's just a means to an end, or not taking it seriously because that's just the way he is with relationships. I suspect the former. And as for the wisdom of crowds when it comes to body language, you can be fairly confident that the general consensus is accurate, with just a small doubt.
