Nope. I'm trying to resist as everyone is reading it at the moment.

Apparently it's been panned by critics and is quite badly written but it's become a best-seller anyway. Each to their own, I guess.

I looked up the plot and it doesn't interest me at all

Haven't read it and the more I read about it, the less inclined I am to read it.

It makes me sad that 50 shades of grey has become a best seller. I've read bits and it is so poorly written. I know it's getting people to read but they'd be better off with a wheres wally book. I have one friend who doesn't read at all and now because she has finally decided to read this she is acting like she has a superior intellect when it comes to reading.

Granted I am a bit of a book snob though, I've always been a huge reader but I would rather read something with substance. I will stick to Sylvia Plath's work, thankyou. *jumps off the soap box*

On the subject of 50 Shades Of Grey, I found this on Youtube the other day. Annoying-voiced 90's movie star Gilbert Gottfried (from Problem Child, Look Who's Talking 2, and the voice of the parrot in Aladdin) reads some of the 'erotic' parts of the book. So funny. The part about the panties makes me crack up every time...

There hasn't been a book series sensation in a few years since the Twilight books/Dragon tattoo books so the world was due for a new book sensation where everyone is talking about it

I am eager to check out JK rowling's new book. I wanna see if she is capable of being a "one hit wonder" or actually be able to deliver a book that is good as Harry potter. The plot sounds great but the front cover, well it looks like something i could of made in Art class in under 10 minutes.

Afternoon. Why you all talking about 50 Shades?

I heard a song today that I haven't heard in years and had forgotten how good it was. Fast Car by Tracy Chapman - a brilliant song by a brilliant singer

Blame BadKid

I was convinced until about 4 years ago, Tracy Chapman was a bloke. I really was.

I remember watching the Irish Top 30 on RTE 2 in the 90s and seeing that song played every week. It was sooooooooo popular in Ireland.

I heard Fast Car for the first time in a long time (even though it's on my iPod) last Sunday. Great song.

Is it just me or is the unplugged version of Layla better than the original?

I guess a lot of people aren't bothered about what the critics say. I never take them seriously anyway. I form my opinions of music, TV shows etc. rather than going by what the critics think.

God bless you Last FM

You have introduced me to another wonderful musician by the name of Sophie Zelmani. Has anyone else listened to her?

Here are a few of her songs to get you started

Edit, she's quite beautiful too.

I've heard that it started out as fan fic but in what way is it related to the Twilight series? That confuses me.

I bought a book today, but it wasn't fifty shades of grey - it was Nineteen Eighty Four by George Orwell. My mum has been saying for years that I should read it

No but I've asked this same question to my friends and they recommend them, it's better than the film portrays apparently

sort of. It's about being watched all the time (I think) and people thought that it was far fetched when it was first released but it's absolutely true now.

I nearly picked up the hunger games today as I saw the first film in the cinema a couple of months ago. I might pick them up at some point
