Why are there replays of counters dropping off a shelf?!

I find it unnecessary. It would be like if Deal or No Deal had replays of boxes being opened.

There is no point playing back a random act as in opening a box, but adds to the drama in a game of skill. |

Ah! At the end there is no time out as he has just won some that dropped afterwards.

Maybe the presenter should ask them whether they've decided on a strategy.

Are you talking about the deliberate stutter they've built into the machine ![]() It's harder to make it do the stutter... A simple rack and pinion drive is smooth as silk and much easier (cheaper) to engineer.. Example: http://youtu.be/wpO8_RRp_Z8 Jeez, that mechanism could sit right under the shelf in the middle..It's the easiest thing in the world to build ![]() Quote:
Say you're building up an area with your tiles, what if you don't get the chance to build on them with your last tile because they've been removed from the machine...? I'd say that's a major flaw..? A smooth ease in/out motion (rack/pinion) would've been a lot fairer than the stutter.. With regards to the tiles in the hopper/win area, either from the win shelf itself or as a result of the first [moveable] shelf dropping tiles pushing more into the hopper, why can't they simply add them up each round and give them away on a question as a bonus too? It might even help pad out what is otherwise a 30min quiz in a 60min slot.. Although saying that, had they designed the machine smoothly, there wouldn't be any dropping in between rounds... [which as someone has pointed out, is a 'problem'..] Bring back the chasers I say lol

![]() Just ![]() You know there is a stutter and that it was deliberately built into the machine. Why ask me questions when you have all the inside info? |

I watched the first episode thinking it would be good, but it is the most utter pile of shite on Daytime ITV and can't wait for The Chase to come back.

Why does the counter drop from the centre of the "drop zone"?
Surely the player should be able to decide where it drops from - since it would still bounce about. |

Maybe there's only one slot at the top of each zone....After all, if the contestant had to choose not only 1,2,3 or 4, but also left, right or centre .... far too many options to create a strategy for.

Why doesn't the winning contestant try to land the jackpot disc on top of existing ones. That way it is a step closer to the edge. Or is that expecting too much?
