Girls Aloud have had a longer and better career, released much more material and never pretended to be what they weren't.

Spice Girls - five girls from (more or less) working class roots shouting 'Girl Power' while their bank accounts got bigger and bigger and they drifted apart from their fans Spice Girls were all about merchandise first, the music second.

Honestly, dear reader, you can do much better than yearn for these multi-millionnaires to reform. Go out and find the talent of tomorrow, who are probably gigging in a small club near where you live, or posting music videos on youtube to begin to get a following.

What a great comment!! Spot on, particularly the third paragraph

Rubbish.

No matter what anyone says, The Spice Girls released some genuinely fantastic pop records.

The fact that the premier musical producer of recent times is using their songs for her encore to Mamma Mia! says it all really.

Yes, they wanted to be "as famous as Persil Automatic", they made the most of the intense interest in the group and cashed in. I see that as savvy rather than greedy. Most would do the same.

Having said that, you can't sell 75 million records on hype and marketing alone. (otherwise surely Katie Price, Naomi Campbell and Eddie Murphey's ill fated pop careers would have taken off)

The music has to be of some merit.

The Spice Girls first two albums are two of the best pop records of the last 20 years.

I would rather be regarded as a sell out whilst sitting in my mansion than be oh so alternative and indie whilst struggling to pay the rent.

I've never understood the dislike for Victoria. People always bring up the not smiling thing, but I remember reading in an interview ages ago (I was a huge Spice Girls fan when I was young lol) that she doesn't like her smile. I'm not being nasty, but she is one of those people that do look worse when they smile, not (always) because of the state of their teeth, but because it makes their face look not as nice. Interviews I've seen her in, she seems to have a sense of humour and I've enjoyed them.

Back to the topic, no they should not reform without Victoria. They should not reform at all. One, because it is so desperately fake and unnatural it would be ridiculous. And Two, they are so much older now and the songs are dated. I couldn't take any of them seriously now they are fifteen(?) years older and singing about Spice up Your Life

Mel C and geri were my absolute favourites growing up with them...LOVE their solo album material too!

But i hated the group as a 4 piece tbh, that album wasnt the same without geri there.....so without Posh most definitely it wont be the same if they were to reform.

But look at the headlines they grabbed with Posh alone! Yeah she may have a cold outlook but thats her persona, i love her for it tbh! Its how you recognise her

But tbh if they found that right sound and direction and came back with new material i wouldnt be against it....but if its anything like headlines or Voodoo....maybe not.
I doubt it will ever happen again but vb wouldn't be missed tbh did we ever here her her voice wasn't strong in the SG
