ipad accessories

What Apple accessories do I need with the ipad3 to make it an all singing and dancing commodity?

Do all the cables etc required for charging come with the ipad, or do I need to buy them separately?

Could anybody direct me to an ipad dock, keyboard and SIM for 3G access ..... or can/how do I tether it to my android phone?

I have searched the internet but am still a bit confused as to what I need.

I am due to get the ipad later today or tomorrow, when I can go and collect it.

Thanks for any help.

It comes with a plug for charging. In my experience you can't charge it off of a PC USB as it can't draw a strong enough current.

The best SIM is 3's 10GB/month for £15 however you need to check 3's coverage map to make sure you can get a reliable service.

Some links for accessories:

The official Apple wireless keyboard is a good match for the iPad. There are also plenty of 3rd party alternatives, as you simply need a Bluetooth keyboard.

There is an official dock, and again there are 3rd party docks.

Have a look around, check prices and reviews.

Tethering... You can tether an iPad. I tether mine to my iPhone if I need internet access and don't have WiFi available. I don't know how to do it with Android, though, but it should be doable.

It needs a usb 2 or 3 port for charging from USB.

One essential I have is the apple digital av adapter here
I got mine included with my ipad from John Lewis.
HMV were selling them cheaper than apple.
Its stunning for mirroring the ipad on the TV and great for presentations on the road.

On my Android phone I can create a WiFi hotspot that anything (with the key) can connect to.

Thank you all for your replies and links.

I have an android phone, how do I create a wifi hotspot?

May be a better option than buying a sim which I may not use, as I do have 3G on my phone, although the signal is pretty dismal at times!

Btw. .... Now have the iPad, have not used it that much but seems a smart piece of tech. So many ask which tablet to buy, thought I would go for the 'best' of the bunch, or is it the most popular? It is so much better now that I have Chrome rather than Safari! Still not sure whether I actually 'needed' the iPad, it seems more of a toy, an expensive toy, rather than an essential!
