The most shocking games ever
http://whatculture.com/gaming/ban-these-evil-games.php.
Came across this list . Pretty interesting, while some of the games are seriously tame by today's standards , other games like the rape one and ethinic cleansing are just plain evil (and its games like that, which give The Daily Mail an excuse). Does anybody know of any other games that should be on this list?. Actually thinking about it The Mail would probably like a game that endorsed ethnic cleansing

I thought Thrill Kill was excellent - some of the deaths were so absurd, it was clearly just satire, obviously lost on the morally outraged!
I'd never want to see any game banned, unless it was directly suggesting that people go out and commit serious crimes in real life. |

It wasn't released over here but RapeLay, if you don't know what it is you can probably guess from the title what the game's about.

I wrote an article about this a few months ago and the one that pissed me off the most was a game called Super Columbine Massacre RPG. It was basically an 8 bit recreation of the Columbine shootings. It it just disgusting and is a pure love story to the killers, I got so annoyed that the creator of the game emailed me defending his game.
Safe to say his arguments were weak at best. Publicity whore at best. |

Let's look at that list
DOOM - Killing Nazi's. Fairly acceptable. CARMAGEDDON - Pedestrians are rather annoying. Hopefully the new version will include cyclists. The road devil THRILL KILL - 50 Shades of Grey in 3D BMX XXX - An awful game that knew it was an awful game so had tits in it. Basically, it was a really ugly girl...with a boob job. Face for radio GTA SA - C'mon it's like the nerdy kid in school. It has to do something to achieve attention COD MW2 - As pointless as it was. It's not good to shoot civilians but you can mow down entire african rebel bases and have lots of collateral damage. Meh CUSTERS REVENGE - Only when I agree with. No excuse for this. Hideous. ETHNIC CLEANSING - Nothing more than a fantasy by twisted minds. Deserves zero attention and didn't get a general release. Pet project of a Nazi nerd. RAPEPLAY - Being pedantic...it's alright to murder in other games yet this, which is an obvious pisstake, gets all the stick. At least the ending has just deserts. BULLY - For gods sake. Anyone who ever went to school, this was utterly light as butter. It's only there because of the original title. POSTAL 2 - Just funny. Crude schoolboy humour but funny. NIGHT TRAP - Not at all controversial, unless your a vote seeking Senator or Congressman MANHUNT - Even the Americans weren't arsed by this. So I don't get why its on. |

''Ugly and uncompromising, Manhunt was attacked following the death of Stefan Pakeerah – murdered by a friend obsessed with the game.'' Wasn't it proven that he didn't even own the game and that it was just the newspapers lying and saying that he did

There will always be idiots who write offensive stuff because they confuse offensive with edgy. But let's be honest, many of these titles were never big sellers. Someone somewhere will do something offensive every minute of the day but that doesn't make it newsworthy.

Yep, infact i believe that it turned out that it was actually the victim who actually owned the game and that the killer had never even played the game. Typical Daily Mail bullshit.

I prefer Charlie Brookers take on this list from a few years ago. At least it was entertaining and not sensationalist tosh.

Still does his column and he's decent on 10 o'clock live. He'll be a busier now with the his new baby and "that bird" Konnie Huq.
Would love him to do a proper series of Gameswipe. |

The moment I saw MW2 I knew it would be about No Russian.

I've obviously led a very sheltered gaming life, I've played hundreds if not thousands of games and the most explicit thing i can think of is the 'lust' level in Dantes Inferno. The level was largely made up of giant penises and the boss was a 200ft naked woman who secreted killer babies from her nipples.
I found that far more explicit than Manhunt but maybe that's because I played it almost 10 years ago! |

As to the list, I think the only one which was really bad were Custer's Revenge. |
