Kindle eBook as a gift

I've tried looking at the Amazon website, but cannot find the answer. How do you send someone a Kindle eBook as a gift?

AFAIK you can't.

Though you could send them an Amazon gift card.

It's disappointing they don't do this. I usually send a gift card.

Thanks for the responses. The wife was asking me last night, I think she wanted to send a book to a friend as a gift.

I think you can buy Kindle gift cards. Either paper ones to post or electronic email ones. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/gc/order..._09&type=Email

Sadly not even though this has been a feature available to Amazon.com for years now.

It's poor show that Amazon haven't added this to other countries.

Could one put an ebook on a wishlist and somebody else buy it for them? That would be a way, but not really a surprise.

ETA: I am registered at amazon.com and there I have an option next to a book "Give as a gift". Then I have to log on and specify to which Amazon account/email address I want to send it.

Books from .com wont work on a kindle linked to a UK account.

Yes they do. You can transfer your account seamlessly between countries depending on your whim as long as you have a valid local billing address. Bit of a stretch for a gift though.

Good News I've bought you an ebook! Bad News you have to change your billing address to Beverley Hills 90210 to get it

DRM needs to die. I can (and have) ordered books from Amazon USA, despite only having a UK billing address.

Digital books shouldn't be treated any differently.
