I went to Lasan Indian restaurant in Birmingham, winner of Gordon ramsay's F Word, even that was not as dear as op's food! Well I'm pretty sure it wasn't anyway.

I wouldn't even class that as a takeaway, i'd call it the world's most expensive ready meal.

Just got back from a holiday in Padstow and got Rick Stein fish and chips to take away.
1 adult cod and chips, 2 kids cod and chips, 2 bread and butter, 3 sachets of ketchup and 1 tartare sauce came to £22! Nicest fish and chips I've ever had though. |

We have a fantastic Thai restaurant near us which does take-home. It usually comes to about 40 quid for 2 of us but it easily covers 2 meals each so really 20 quid. It is a treat though - not a regular occurrence.

I also wouldn't class the original posters meal as a takeaway, it's quite clearly a ready meal, which makes it even worse. I don't mind paying a lot for food if it's in a decent restaurant and is good food but I'd not be happy about paying that much for something I'd got to take home and heat up! |

This is just a rip off - OK, fair play it's Harrods and maybe you would expect it to be expensive, but £21 for a portion of Jalfrezi - can never justify that. Pure greed.
For two people, we usually spend £18-£22 on a Chinese - usually two main dishes, a plain noodles, some sweet and sour balls and maybe a pancake roll each if really peckish. Plus Prawn Crackers of course (I think these are usually tossed in free though). I'm addicted to them. Pizza place, tend to only use them with vouchers or offers, would never feel justified paying full price. The example posted above is roughly what we might order (minus the cookies) but I'd never pay the full £30. I did have a very greedy moment at McDonalds a month or so ago, must have spent about £12 just on myself, I had the promo Striker meal and the promo Chicken Maestro meal and a Twix McFlurry all in one seating. Disgusted with myself after, but hadn't eaten anything else that day. |

Just had a Chinese that cost £11.50. Only managed to eat just over half of it and now feel stuffed/sick.
