How many of those had a US number one album?

Give him a break, the fans were clearly not bothered by it so why should we care?

I agree. A better example would have been Jonas Brothers...

God help One Direction if they choose to take a "break". They'll be forgotten quicker than they'd imagine.

I've decided that Niall Horan should, from here on out, be referred to as C**ty C**tface. Hey it's only banter after all!

Possibly because they don't know any better!
Is a little bit of courtesy too much too expect?
Has it become the norm to expect to be treated like this from the people you look up to- because they're famous and good-looking blah-de-blah?
As I said earlier, those very fans are keeping them in expensive bad haircuts.

As for the number 1 US album thing, well, 1D have had bloody good marketing. Don't honestly know if the other bands got the same or not, so fair play on that one.

expensive bad haircuts? What do you want them to do mr 1970's barber? Pass the basin round or maybe a lovely comb over with lashings of brylcreem?

If he aimed the words at you, you would have the right to be appalled or turned on or whatever but he didn't.

c**t is a lovely word though isn't it?

You don't have to be on the receiving end of foul language to be offended by it.....the fact that he aimed it at someone else is neither here nor there.

Mnnnn...well, I am Irish too and NO, it can't be used in a non-offensive way. The only people who think it is ok to be so rude and coarse to innocent girls, are people who have been DRAGGED up, not brought up.

How old are you? So you think as long as something isn't aimed directly at an individual they have no right to comment or have an opinion on it? Seriously, grow up.

These guys have the privilege of being famous off the back of a crappy reality show. They havent grafted for it, the ungrateful brats have practically had it handed to them on a plate, courtesy of uncle simon.

They should be treating their fans with respect and if they can't handle the adulation of a few teenage girls, who incidentally are keeping them in their nice lifestyle, then they need to think about changing jobs.

Anyway teenagers are fickle, 1D will be on an obscure show on an obscure channel ten years from now, with talking heads asking 'whatever happened to...?'.

Precisely, and especially based on the last sentence of the poster's remarks, I ain't even going to dignify it with a personal response.

Other than to say I can't stand basin cuts and brylcream.

Thinking about this from a logical, unbiased point of view... he's been famous for only a short amount of time, he's on a steep learning curve. Is all the outrage really necessary? He can't be expected to be perfect at 18 at the drop of a hat. Yeah he ****ed right up here, but he's certainly not going to do it again.

People saying what will they be doing when it ends. Chances are if they are intelligent enough, they will be set up for life with the money they are making now. They just need to look after the money they have and they will be perfectly fine.

Think that's a fair point, actually. If he does it again, the learning curve gets a bit steeper, though.
FWIW, I'm not 'outraged'- a bit disgruntled, and a bit but outrage is better reserved for other atrocities.

Im sick of this "oh its just banter in ireland" excuse, its like that thug conor from big brother saying he would sexually violate a woman and knock her out and call her a piece of s*it! Loads of irish people including his friends and family used the banter excuse despite him saying it in a threatening way.
Back to niall he is an ungracious ungrateful talentless soon to be hasbeen who is extremely lucky he was the right height to be in this sh*t band in the first place and needs to start being more humble.
As much as i dont like jedward i also agree you would never hear them come out with such vile language to their fans and genuinely seem to appreciate everything that has happend to them. Still make crap music though!

I was in HMV this morning and by the the tills they had about three rows of one direction mugs and the two bottom ones had the who mugs and other bands like that.

Personally, i just don't get the hype about one direction or justin bieber.
