Bolarinwa looked decent in the semi & will be interesting to see how Delano Williams does in the final.
Delano Williams looks like a different athlete to the kid who ran in the trials. I also think Bolarinwa is better than he looks. Ran alongside Tyreek Hill who's a 20.14 man looking comfortable.

Tyson Gay now saying that Gemili could be one of the best ever! And I thought that I was getting too excited!!

Gay doesn't seem to go in for hyperbole and I don't think he's big on mind games, so I guess he geuninely believes it. In which case, from here on in, it will all be about how Gemili handles the hype.

I'll be happy if he makes the semi-final myself.

Does anyone know how Holly Bleadsdale got on with her head to head with Isinbayeva on Tuesday? Can't find details of it anywhere.

So, the final of the Olympics will now be between Blake and Gemil, with Bolt a distant third then?!

Probably!! Link to Tyson article. http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2012...?newsfeed=true

Great silver for Jessica Judd. She fought hard for the gold and only just missed out. Only 17. It looks like the next generation of 800m women (Sharp, Judd and Dudgeon) will be a real force in the future.

I think she was second 4.70 to 4.85 by Isinbayeva

BTW missed Judd's run and hoped for gold, she did well though and is another great middle distance prospect.

Quite hopefull of something in either the mens or womens 200m tomorrow and the long jump. Shame that K J-T isnt in the hept.!

I guess Williams prefers the climate in Barcelona to Birmingham.

Cheers. She's (Holly) showing good form and seems fearless. If she maintains she could be in with a medal shout. Actually, as well as Isinbayeva has jumped this year, she's flopped at the last three majors I think. I don't want to jinx it, but Bleadsdale could........

Found a short British film called 'Sprinters' from 2007. Not heard of it before. Clip on youtube posted by the director with a link to the full film (only 17 mins - 280 MB):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADSj9Io-eAI

The link the director's posted is a bit fiddly, it's an .exe file which is the download manager from the hosting site. Run it and up pop 3 or 4 small ad windows inviting you to try toolbars and this and that. I just clicked 'ignore' or 'decline' each time (whichever it was), then the film downloaded.

It's a sort of art piece, with no commentary or talking heads, just shots of Michael Afilaka's training group with Jeanette Kwakye, Sarah Claxton, James Ellington amongst others. Not in the film (made 5 years ago) but Adam Gemili is in Michael's training group atm.

Thanks for that. I've tracked down an edited version of the BBC Sprint documentary on YouTube feathering Pickering, Harry AA and Williamson from 2008. Covers the run up to the 2007 world champs and 2008 Olympics as the young sprinters fight for places. I've linked to the first part of 4. The other parts can be seen in related section. When you look at how promising it all looked you wonder where it went wrong. Although we slag them off for being rubbish I've seen that both Pickering and Williamson have had near crippling back injuries in recent years. Training issues?!

Ah it's 3 parts not 4. Quite a lot missed out from the original. It's mostly Pickering and hardly any 2008 coverage. Still interesting.

I see Katarina Johnson-Thompson set a PB in the hurdles this morning to go with her Long Jump PB yesterday. She would have walked the Heptathlon here.

Preview of tonight's London Diamond League action. Plenty of big names.

Yeah, she looked pretty good. Should make the final.

Asafa Powell dropped out. Worried about his groin. You have to wonder how long Him and Gay can keep going. The injuries will only get worse.

Off we go in London. Andy Pozzi gets another PB in the heat of the 110m hurdles, very good considering this is the first time he has been in the ring with all the big names.

And another PB and a great run from Perry Shakes-Drayton!

Perri's just hit the big time. We've been waiting for sub 54 from her and she runs it on a wet and probably windy evening in London.

Culson's clearly favourite for London. Hopefully Dai can pull it back though. He is the better finisher.

Denise Lewis on Chambers...so harsh!!

Edit: I know there was a headwind but 10.67 for Williamson is not good at all. MLF - 10.55 - not good either!!

And we could rely on the 100m boys to make British athletes look like a bunch of chumps again.

I wish Craig Pickering was back. At least you got a consistent 10.1/2 out of him each race.

Yes but they had stiffish headwinds. Gemili had an almost still wind. Bailey in the first semi was certainly quicker relatively. Gay and Collins were probably a bit slower.

Possibly, but a set of heats on a wet cold track in London can't be compared with a time set in perfect conditions in Barcelona.

I was laughing at the Twitter comments from people saying that Chambers should retire. You have to wonder if age has caught up with him this season even though he is younger than Kim Collins.
