Fanily guy or American Dad?

Which do you prefer? Which do you find more entertaining and why?

I really like Family Guy... but I LOVE American Dad. I can't really explain why, I just can't get enough of it.

American Dad, it's more reliable and doesn't have a reliance on lazy cutaway gags based on celebrities you've never heard of. (Can anyone explain to me who James Woods is? Never understood any of the endless references to him)

American Dad for me.

James Woods is Hades from Hercules (that's the main role I know him from) and was in a Simpons episode as himself (the one where Apu looses the Kwiki Mart...cue song). He's a well known actor in America but they are the 2 roles I know him for

American Dad is more consistent but I don't love the characters like I do Brian, Stewie, Peter and Lois.

Family Guy, I do like American Dad but in a typical season I'd get more laughs out of FG.

American Dad is funny too but It's not the type of show you can pick a favourite character from IMO...

Apart from the fact they are both Seth McFarlane shows, they are not similar enough to compare.

They both have their outstanding moments and characters but both also have poor episodes.

I think American Dad is more consistent now but there has been a lot more episodes of Family Guy, so it's bound to have gone "off the boil" a little.

Hey, we're all agreed that they're both better than "The Cleveland Show", right?

I believe "consistent" means it's always funny, rarely a disappointing episode

I love them both, but overall American Dad wins. Much less stupid and funnier to boot.

American Dad. Roger, Steve, Stan beat any three characters of Family Guy by a huge margin. Francine is much funnier than Lois and Jeff and Klaus are better than any side characters in Family Guy. Steve's group of friends are fantastic. They're great together. And obviously the plots are way better. Really underrated show

The plots of American Dad! are better than Family Guy and as people have said, AD is more consistent but I have a soft spot for Family Guy.

Although, some of the stuff Roger says in AD! have me in stitches. Also love Francine:

"I'm pregnant aren't I! You told me I couldn't get pregnant anymore! You told me I was on the pill!"

I find Family Guy funnier and prefer the characters, but I think I've watched it to the point where it's starting to get boring. So I think American Dad probably has the edge for me at the moment.

I love Family guy, but I prefer American Dad. For some reason I love the noise Stan makes when he gets caught out. Ooh!

Like both watch new episodes on Sunday's & Thursdays only. Watch the Saturday & Sunday repeats as well if a taping gets botched up or I just forget to watch it live when it's on.

Also watch the Cleveland & Bob's Burgers new runs sometimes as well on Tuesdays or repeats on Sunday.

Watch new Simpsons & Futurama on Sundays.

Watch new South Park on Fridays or if I miss it catch a repeat which is on almost every day on that show.

Cartoon Network, Disney, Nic ect. Gone downhill and started putting on rubbish so don't watch them at all now for my cartoon fix.

Guess for kids cartoons I'm stuck in the past and everything new is crap but I'm taking a liking to all the adult ones instead as replacements for my love for cartoons as I'm Aspie so I love cartoons like a Autistic person and I get my cartoon fix from them now instead .

Family Guy was still alright when American Dad started, I think American dad has gone from a really average show to funny while Family Guy has been in decline sinces since series 4..

For me I like cartoons more for the story's I don't care about funny because I can't get laughs from them anyway other than the odd few laughs for things Aspies find funny and thats not verbal jokes for sure but other jokes do give us a laugh so we do get laughs out of some stuffs still.

I'm probably the only person who loves them all other than the new kids cartoons I can't stand them but the adult ones are all right up my street From American Dad all the way to South Park for whatever laughs I can get from being Asperger's and a cartoon fan.
