Are you actually suggesting that they venture away from the street for these kind of activities?? That's crazy talk! The law is that they can either go to the kebab place or the chippy. Just like the adults can only go out to the Rovers or the Bistro. Them's the rules!

Maybe this whole plot is meant to be breaking point now? I was wondering why Ken was so supportive of the plan to move away. Yes, we know that Ken adores Leanne and sees her as a positive influence in Simon's life. However, he's a pretty rational bloke and it is a pretty radical plan that will harm his son. Yet it is him, Leanne and Simon who have mainly witnessed all the past incidents that Peter has had and maybe it's just got to the point that they can't take it any more? They don't trust that he'll ever be on an even keel? I don't know.
I think the fact they have Ken on Leanne's side just highlights the fact that the whole situation at the moment is solely mean to be the catalyst for P&C leaving. Just like Steve getting back with/marrying Tracy was the catalyst for Becky's exit. Unbelievable, but we have to go with it

Just thinking back to when Peter used to tell Leanne he had never felt about anyone else the way that he felt about her - and I, like her, believed him! Wouldn't you think I'd have learned by now after the way that he treated Shelley. But at the time he said that to Leanne, he really seemed to be in a redemption story ..... until he reverted to character.
I believed him too! He seemed so genuine with her. This is why I've always been sceptical of him and Carla. I believed him once, but I wouldn't again.

Thank you! And you too What did you think of Peter tonight?! You'd half wonder if he meant it when he threw in the wedding ring.

Thanks k9fan! Sounds silly, but doing the ep thread was quite scary for a first timer But all seemed to go well so yay!!
And Jane was brillaint tonight, as was Chris. Their scenes were amazing!

I'm going to don my tin hat here but.....for a split second, I wanted them to kiss I know Peter's scum and Leanne could do SO much better.....but the energy they had together in those scenes just made me want them back

Argh! I hate that this SL makes me change my min every five minutes. I want to consistently hate Peter and will Leanne to get someone else, but then stuff like tonight happens and

Me, too. I thought they would, then said no Leanne don't. He destroyed you
But it could easily have happened, they were so very close to just falling into one another's arms.

As I said in another post, fine line between love and hate

All that stuff she said about moving on and loving Nick? Pffft! As if! I do commend her for telling Peter where to go, but I wonder what would've happened if she'd have said yes?

I'm o.k thanks for asking.
ITA The atmosphere was sooooo charged between them!! Although I wouldn't trust him as far as I'd throw him I have to say I honestly thought he was the most genuinne tonight than he's been in ages.

I also thought that while it was rather harsh what he said to Carla..It was true. I lol'd at him on about her designer frocks. I am so curious as to see what will happen when he comes back.

I'm not buying Leanne and Nick. That scene with hher and Peter just showed what great chemistry they have.

No problem. Glad to hear you're ok

I don't know whether I believed him tonight, I honestly don't know what to think. Everything he said sounded plausible - the fact he' never taken the ring off, the reference to them not actually being divorced....it kind of made sense. He sounded far too rational to be making a clumsy drunken plea to get Simon back.
Even what he said to Carla sounded genuine. If she'd have never walked into that meeting then he'd still have a happy family...again, he was loaded when he said it, but was it drunken rambling like Michelle said, or was it the truth? Obviously it's not over with Carla, but I don't know how she could feel comfortable with him after what he said tonight. Ok, there's the "I love him" excuse, but that may end up as a smokescreen to hide the fact that she's become Peter's doormat. Where does she draw the line with him?

As for Leanne and Nick? ZIlch chemistry. Tonight proved where the true chemistry lies and it ain't with Nick.

Also loved when Peter told Carla," And for your information I wasn't wallowing,I like sitting in this flat,it brings back some very happy memories for me."

Great script tonight some great lines in it.

What do you all make of Rob? I'm not that keen.

I agree about the script, very well written, and about the chemistry and a thin line between hate with raw grief and intense love. One day, one day, I think that Peter and Leanne may have fireworks again. Every word Peter says he means at the time he says it whether to Leanne, Carla, Shelley, Lucy, whoever. He has no grounds for divorce and I hope that Leanne doesn't divorce him, that will keep the door open so to speak.

The purpose of Rob - used to be Darren - seems to be to run the factory while Carla is away. I thought Michelle and Sally could do that. No, can't say I see the point of his character otherwise.

Peter fell for Carla because she made him feel like a man, like he could help someone else for a change because it's normally Leanne looking after him and cleaning up his mess. IMO Peter wants Carla because she just as messed up as him and they are on the same "level"

He has done some disgusting things but I always felt he didn't think he was good enough for Leanne. Last night he said even Carla doesn't want him kinda sums up what I think the whole Carla\Peter thing is all about.

Interesting that Carla left him the first sign of drunk nasty Peter appeared in contrast to Leanne always got through it.

Jane was amazing last night. Interesting to see if Peter was being truthful when he said he would never let Leanne divorce him. Though I don't know how Carla could carry on sleeping with him now they are a couple still wearing his wedding ring and not ask why.

Good points. And, yes, Jane was amazing.

Pity that Carla has lost her feisty personality / character. And didn't she say that she would always love Liam and no other?

Yeah, but that hussy says alot of things and goes back on them.

It was nice to see her feel genuine pain last night due to her o/h. Seen as she's never been one to care about other peoples feelings.

I know that P&C are supposed to be coming back to/with an "explosive storyline". The only thing I can think of is either Carla's pregnant (please God no!) or that Peter's cleaned himself up and wants Simon and a divorce. Although the latter would mean going back to repeating the SL over again.
It does make you wonder though why no-one's mentioned divorce and why he did keep that ring on. If I were Carla I'd be unnerved.

I also gave a laugh at that "bye then" line. It was more a laugh of surprise/disbelief though. He was so cold to Carla and just didn't give one - just like he was with Leanne over Simon.

Totally indifferent to him so far. Thought his entrance was funny when he squared up to Peter, but he's done nothing particularly noteworthy since. I'll give him a bit more time, but so far he's turned out to be a bit of a damp squib.

Definitely! It may be a long way off, but I'm sure it'll happen at some point. Last night confirmed it for me.

That's a good point. This is the problem of Carla relying on Peter so much to be her "rock". When he turns nasty, she doesn't know what to do and she's got no-one else to help her. Plus, I don't think Carla ever believed he could be so vile because all he's ever been to her is sweet, kind, lovely Peter

She seems really lovely! Seriously, why can't Leanne dress like that instead of those God awful blouses and coats

And she confirmed what everyone knows - she doesn't love Nick! Surprise surprise!

BIB: That's just how I roll!

So, really, what you're saying is, I should just stop trying to reason with this storyline? Well done on the ep thread, by the way.

Interesting point – could be. Who knows what's next!

Yep, she was great. I particularly liked the one on Lorraine as Nadia Sawahla seemed like she was a genuine fan of the character and Jane, made for a very positive atmosphere. Also – there was a mention of saintly behaviour!

BIB: I bet that they'll opt for that. I don't want that to happen, but I really think it will.

I think my thoughts on last night's ep will probably echo what has gone before, but anyway...

What is so very, very good about Jane's performance [and this was evident on Monday, too] is just the switch-up in emotion, the range that she takes Leanne through. So many feelings: disbelief, hurt, sarcasm, anger...all there to see.

The tension was just palpable...in many ways the scene between Peter and Leanne last night reminded me of them after the affair reveal in February...so much raw emotion. I don't know if Peter was being genuine or not, but they were not trivial things coming out of his mouth, they were big statements.

The dialogue was just spot-on, too...so much heartbreak for Leanne.

I found Michelle's point about how Peter had been so supportive after Carla's attack an interesting thing to put in there. I wonder if he was able offer that support not just because he cared a great deal, but also because his general situation in life was much more stable then?

Thanks! Looking back, I don't know why I was so about it, but first time and all that jazz!

I think it may be best to just suspend all reasoning I've lost count of the number of time my head's almost exploded with the inconsistencies! So I'm just taking it as it comes now!

*sighs* More ammo for the anti-Leanne brigade

BIB - I felt the exact same way! It was the fact that it was just Peter and Leanne on their own, emotions on both sides running high and all that...When it's just the two of them, I still feel that spark, but when others are around it's different - almost as if they want to show people they don't care about each other.

Good point. Peter was only stable because of Leanne. Left to his own devices he's a total disaster eg. last night. That's why Carla left imo. The Peter she needed wasn't there, instead she was faced with the self-pitying, drunk who had no interest in helping her whatsoever. If he had been in that position back when she was raped, I highly doubt she'd have gone anywhere near him.
