Excellent episode again. I didn't miss the blood and guts - cancer is as much part of what makes up A&E as the more dramatic stuff.
(Looks as if the blood and guts are back in full force next week anyway). |

Well I was in tears til the daughter said she inherited 13 cats, made me smile a bit. Tonight's episode has made me want to give my mum a hug, don't think I'll be alone in thinking that.

Well see you all next time.
I think it may be a replay of last week - I spent a lot of that episode wincing, watching between my fingers and pulling horrified faces!

The bit where the family of the woman who refused to go on the ventilator contemplated what she had just said was one of the saddest things I've seen on TV.

But the Doctor sewing her up, really nervous...
![]() Sara's Mum, very funny, and someone you need, to deal with Cancer..."I don't believe in Cancer"...was that what she said. ![]() Heart breaking story...with the Daughter not wanting to let go...And Abbie the Nurse, reassuring with Tea. |

Easily one of the best progs on TV at the moment. Every week there's something really touching and human - superb documentary making. The contrast of the stories this week between the 71 year old woman nearing death and that delightful little 5 year old girl who had banged her head was really nicely done.

Very sad this week, it showed just how traumatic a slow death through cancer is. Brought back a lot of memories for me, mostly how it is actually very obvious to the patient and outside observers that they are "on their way out" as Josephine put it, yet the relatives always convince themselves that it's not their time.
I thought the picture at the end of the young Josephine showed everything her daughter was trying to put across about how vibrant her mum used to be. |

I am sure they all came to the same conclusion eventually with a little help from the staff . |

Wow....just finished watching last week's episode and I'm still sniffly....I went from laughing at the wonderful Sara and her Mum...(I'd love to go on holiday with those 2)....to crying over poor Josephine....such a sweet lady, you could see she'd had enough...RIP...and much love to her family xxx...Huge admiration to everyone working in hospitals, everywhere...you're all stars....and should be on footballer's wages

![]() The amount of nurses lost to the health systems is huge and much of it due to stress and burnout . I always feel if they had more holidays it would help a great deal to re charge batteries . Teachers in Ireland get 2 or 3 months holiday and say they need it because of stress .So do many others including nurses , para medics etc |
