![]() It was a kippah (worn by Jewish people). Just for some fun backstage gossip: About 5 minutes after the end of the show, Ben was doing some retakes... and the jackpot counter fell, all on it's own, out of play! Gavin was gutted. |

Gavin had more guts than the player on DoND today. Really sucks that the Jackpot Counter was THAT close to the edge. It just need a little shove.

If I were in Gavin's position I'd have taken the 2800; a more than decent sum guarenteed is better than playing with luck.

Gavin was great today, shame he didn't get the Jackpot. With his luck throughout the show I thought he would.

On the other hand, if £2,800 would be a nice extra in the bank, perhaps a more expensive holiday or some other luxury purchase later, then you've got to view it as a bet and weigh up the odds. £2,800 to win £10,000. "Do you think you have at least a 28% chance of winning?" I thought he did, and he obviously did too. But it is all down to luck where the counters fall, and they didn't quite fall in his favour. It's easy with hindsight to say it was the wrong choice, but I believe at the time it was the correct choice assuming he could afford to bet £2,800. |

It really was edge of the seat stuff, I can't believe the counter didn't fall!
Yes, Gavin was wearing a kippah (or cupple, yarmulke, skullcap - whatever you want to call it) and the 'shiny' thing was probably a clip. They don't always stay on so well on their own. |

What you have to understand is contestants are told to big it up in front of the cameras, to be " over the top " as they say. The audition process is very cut-throat if you do not come over as over exuberant for a show such as this then your never going to get picked to go on in the first place. Gavin was unlucky on Friday, in my opinion the odds were in his favour to get the jackpot & do not blame him for giving it a go. As I have said earlier I suspect the game is great to play for the contestants but a little slow for the viewer though it has grown on me somewhat & is nowhere near as bad as I first thought, not sure though whether they will go so far as to make any further series though. |

Weird strategy from Ben, no-one's played DZ2 so he takes that. It's done enough, but 1 and 4 are both well loaded.
