Poll: The Voice vs The X Factor.. Which one would you axe?

If you had to choose, which one would you forever wave goodbye to? Should Simon pull the plug whilst ahead? Is Tom ready for retirement? Are both just to dope to get rid of?

I wouldn't say they "complete" my life, but they're both something to watch when there's nothing else on at 2 different times of the year. The fact that there's competition when they're months apart I actually find to be a little bit perplexing.

I agree with this, but if I HAD to choose I'd get rid of X Factor.

This poll is a bit unfair really, being in The Voice forum. I think it'd be better in the 'Reality TV: UK" section.

The X Factor is tired and trashy now and I get sick of the way the tabloids worship what is a second rate talent contest. OK The Voice wobbled a bit in the ratings, but I'm sure it will grow on people.

Want my view, the X factor should've been strangled at birth. I have never liked it. The voice is miles better. It'll come back much stronger next series. BBC should stick with it. !!

I don't see why they can't co-exist. The TV world is big enough for both of them. But I prefer the X Factor by about 1000%. That is event TV. But there was not much of a buzz about the Voice.

I really hate the way the redtops treat The Crap Factor as if it is high art. It is a rigged, trashy show that has been on too long and most of the singers don't last very long.

My opinion on the X Factor can be summed up with two words: axe it.
The Voice had potential from what I've seen, but was just as rigged as the X Factor, and it's "talent" became just as talentless as X before the end.

it's a weird question as there is zero % chance of either of them getting the axe.

the voice needs a shit load of work done it for Season 2, and the fact that it displaced Dr Who in the schedule was a nuts decision.

I expect X factor to be much better this year, but would expect an audience decline.

if both are still on air in two years i'd be surprised.

I thought the XF contract ends in 2013? Not an axe, but the end at least.

I would axe the XF if I had to make a choice. It's far to rigged and cringeworthy. When Cowell was on the panel, you could literally tell he was trying to laugh at the bad singers. The laughter wasn't coming naturally. The XF reached it's peak in 2006 with Leano Lewis and Ben Mills and hasn't been in the same league since. If only the standard was closer to those artists.

I would keep the Xfactor over the voice purely based on the production of it and I think the auditions are funny. But then, I hate the judge line up now, and prefer the Voices.

Both are disparaging to put into perspective, so both should face the axe.

If this was in the X Factor forum, it would probably be 100% The Voice.

I prefer The Voice to X Factor, I like the judges better and the contestants are more talented, and although it had some faults I'm sure it will be even better next year. If I had to make a choice I would prefer to axe X-Factor but there should be room for both as I think they appeal to different audiences even though I would think the majority watch both shows.
