Sorry but I have to agree the distinction between FTA and FTV BBC is irrrelevant. This thread is about pay channels. Sure a card was required for the BBC but it was a free card. The purpose was to enable the BBC to comply with copyright by not broadcasting outside the UK, not to cover their costs. That's entirely different from only being able to receive Sky1 or MTV if you subscribe to the basic Sky package.
