Keegan, Kodi, Kaiden, Kaydyn, Kyler, Kai...
These names scream at me that the poor kids never stand a chance in life because their parents screwed them over at the first possible instance. I'm not saying it's impossible or that it's fair but mostly only posh kids can get away with ridiculous names. |

20 years in nursery class gives you a good idea of name trends. In my experience it's usually the very young parents who choose usual names/spellings, trendy or frankly made up names while the parents who have their childern aged 30+ tend to pick traditional names.

Remember David Bowie calling his son, Zowie-and Mark Bolan calling his son, Rolan? Poor kids!

If a kid was called Keegan I'd have an urge to follow it with a David Coleman "One-Nil"

we all get a bit sniffy about loads of kids having chavvy names like Kylie, Chardonnay. Kristel and Clamydia, but the upper classes do the same thing.
We were all managing quite nicely and then the whole place was over-run with posh birds called Tara and Tamara (and probably a few Tamamaras also) |

So for example and golfer called Hunter Mahan, Hunter being a surname. Many presbyterians in Northern Ireland have a fascination with doing this as well and many of these would have been of Scots-Irish descent in America too. |

I think now is the time to mention Moon Unit and Dweezil Zappa. |

One of those names that you can almost guarantee the kid will be a little shit.
We've recently had about 4 people at work have babies and none of them have had a decent name. The thing I dislike is all the false niceness that comes with having a baby. Everyone is all "Ooh, what a lovely name". I'll happily say if I think a names crap. When I have kids I'm going to issue a statement with the child asking for people to be honest, say if you think the name's crap. I'll also request that nobody says "Ooh, doesn't he/she look like his/her mum/dad?" No, they bloody don't, they look like a baby, like every other bloody baby! |
