Xbox 360 + 3D TV
Hi all, just got my TV and have a couple of questions.
Do I need a HDMI 1.4 cable for the 3D games to work? Also I know the TV upscales 2D to 3D, does that work for the Xbox also? Lastly my TV came with glasses i'm guessing they're cheap ones, is it worth investing in a more expensive pair. I don't care what the current ones look like just wondering if picture quality would be different. Cheers |

There is officially no such thing as an "HDMI 1.4" cable (the version is for the interface, not the cable), plus the HDMI interface on the 360 is only v1.2 anyway.
Just get a "High Speed HDMI Cable" (often incorrectly marketed as "HDMI v1.3"). Any cable that is "High Speed" will be certified to handle 1080p, 3D, etc. You could get a "High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet" (sometimes incorrectly marketed as "HDMI v1.4") for future-proofing but you wouldn't need the Ethernet side of it. http://www.hdmi.org/consumer/buying_guide.aspx http://www.hdmi.org/manufacturer/hdm...i_1_4_faq.aspx If you don't have any cables already, you can get a High Speed cable (with Ethernet) for only £4 from Kogan: http://www.kogan.co.uk/shop/hdmi-cab...s-gold-plated/ |

Purchasing more expensive 3D Glasses won't make a difference. You'll see exactly the same 3D image. I have a Samsung 55 D6530 and game in 3D sometimes but I never upscale 2D to 3D as I find it quite disappointing (nothing like proper 3D). Gears 3 and Halo Anniversary are quite good in 3D .
