Pfft. More likely that, being set in a New York-inspired city, they didn't want to upset people still mourning the terror attacks.

Cant see them saying that and then not producing. Looking forward to it especially if it's huge as promised.

In a post on their official site, Rockstar say that GTA 5 will be the “largest and most ambitious” title they’ve developed yet. They also confirm the setting, saying “Grand Theft Auto V focuses on the pursuit of the almighty dollar in a re-imagined, present day Southern California.”

GTA 5 will take place in “the city of Los Santos and surrounding hills, countryside and beaches.” Just the one city, then. No mention of San Fierro (San Francisco) and Las Venturas (Las Vegas), which featured alongside Los Santos in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Rockstar say that GTA 5 represents “a bold new direction in open-world freedom,” and confirms that there will be online multiplayer.

Those are all the solid facts so far. It’s been less than a day since the debut trailer landed, and the rumour mill has already gone into overdrive. Are you looking forward to returning to Los Santos?

Rumour mill indeed. I like the people that dissect images and make up all the 'secrets' they've hidden in them.

Like the fact that there's a camera on the helicopter means there will be some surveillance missions. Yeah... or maybe it has a camera on it... because police helicopters have camera on them...

Loaded up my last ps2 san andreas save 'dated 2005' to relive some nostalgia, there's a Z on the map, walk into it... supply lines...

several hours and numerous attempts later this came to mind

Picked the wrong week to give up sniffing glue

Reads a lot more like a sidestep than a confirmation to me.

"Red Dead Redemption 2" has not been confirmed, it's merely a statement that Rockstar are looking to expand the franchise, it would not be under the Redemption name, it would follow in line with Red Dead *title name*.

I wonder if Rockstar will increase the RRP to £54.99 like EA did with FIFA 12.

Highly unlikely I'd imagine. I for one won't be buying it on launch day as a new title if they did that, and wait a
few weeks, or even months, until it's available at a more reasonable price at somewhere like CeX. I'm certain
there'd be many other people that'd do the same, despite it being a highly anticipated, long awaited title.

They won't and pretty sure the RRP for games at start of this generation was £59.99 ? I can't remember now so long. and can't remember buying any 360 games at that price, RRP's mean nothing. I mean there what £49.99 now right, and has anyone ever paid that amount for a standard edition ? The most I pay is around £35.

It's amazing how much publicity Rockstar can get from just 3 screenshots! At least we know Cycling and Planes are back!

I just hope you don't have to take clingy cousens bowling..Wish they would have set it in the 70's, would have stripped away a lot of mobile phone/internet bumf that i found intrusive when playing...radio stations would have been a blast to!

I looked at the link for that website and I must be blind if any of it has something to do with GTA.
