The Lost Boys

I have just been sorting through my piles of movie stills from when I worked in cinemas. Found a set of The Lost Boys stills and realised that this is my all time favourite film.

It seems to be top of a lot of peoples list. I don't know why I liked it so much, but even the soundtrack has some of my favourite tunes too.

What is it that you like about The Lost Boys?

Also, I have put the pack of 10 movie stills up for an online auction. Please pm me if you would like the link.

I like the song "Cry Little Sister" from the Lost Boys soundtrack. the soundtrack enhances the enjoyment of the film. Its one of my favourite 80s films and one of the best teen vampire films.

There is just something about this film. maybe the 80s nostalgia that makes this film special. Kiefer Sutherland was great in it and Jason Patric was good too. Patric is one of the most underrated actors.

The soundtrack is one of the most memorable movie albums of the 80s. Literally everyone had a copy. Not literally everyone, but you know what I mean.

The film has the right balance between horror and comedy. It also has a great cast, an awesome soundtrack, classic one-liners. I'm not usually a fan of vampire films but The Lost Boys is my favourite films of all time.

Great film. I like the two brothers on their bicycles who are 'vampire busters'.

I think it's incredibly overrated... Like other 80's movies The Goonies and Dirty Dancing.

Entertaining stylistic film with an excellent soundtrack, but lacking the substance and originality it's reputation would have you believe. Would have liked that 'proper' sequel though - The Lost Girls - that was talked about in the 90's. Warner Bros were foolish there because this film performed well on VHS and became even more popular in the years after its release.

I love The Lost Boys, classic vampire film with great special effects and a brilliant soundtrack. Kiefer Sutherland as David - brilliant casting!

I watch this film at least once a month, love the music, the location, characters and actors.

It's my sort of humour and of course from my youth, so nostalgic. I have always loved The Doors and Echo and the Bunnymen, so a double Brucie bonus on the film soundtrack cd for me. Apart from Mitchell in the brilliant Being Human, my favourite vampires.

I was an Usher in the recently opened AMC Cinemas in The Metro Centre back in the days when this was released, and if anyone was looking for me (when I was skiving) they would find me watching The Lost Boys.

This film had style and humour and great music.

One of my favourite lines is from the grandad. "I've got the TV guide, don't need a TV". Or words to that effect.

Has anyone noticed that on a couple of scenes when the camera zooms out of the cave, it's just a rewind shot of the camera going into the cave?

Its one of those films you can watch over and over without getting bored of it.

I watched the sequels not so long ago and what a waste of my time that was. I can see why they were just released straight to video.

It had a brilliant soundtrack which very much added to the film as well as a decent storyline and some good actors.

Can't really add anything, it's all been said.

I loved it so much I wrote essays about it at GCSE, then at A Level and finally for my degree, lol, I can wax lyrical about it all day, so much to read into it, stylistically, thematically, as a vampire genre film, as an 80's film... etc etc

If I ever make a film I want it to have the same feel and cult appeal as The Lost Boys, great great film

When my 8 year old daughter is old enough to get into vampire movies, I will sit and watch this with her to show her a real vampire movie instead of that "Twilight" drivel. She already loves "The Goonies" and "Labyrinth".

I certainly have. It usually gets a good airing when I've watched the movie again.
