I think you've missed the point of the OP's post. They will still be PAYING for the card when it's not useable.

Maybe if you were still paying for your internet service during the two months you didn't have it, it would be comparable. But it's not.

One thing I would like to see is to be able to use the machines to get my ticket. I hate having to wait while the 1 member of staff tries to keep up with the line out of the door.

I've had an unlimited card for 5 years, use it loads and have only not been able to get in once. And it wasn't for a must-see blockbuster but a slightly more niche film that was more popular than expected and had fewer screenings than usual.

I tend to go on a Friday specifically to see new releases and have never missed out on the really big ones. It does depend on the particular cinema and the time I guess or maybe I've been incredibly lucky to have only have it happen once.

Someone has said that pre-booking will be available - is that what the machines are for?

They have just announced that they are trialling online booking in Ipswich. You have to collect your tickets 20 mins before and can't book another until 90 minutes after the showing. Which is absolutely fair enough and definitely progress.

Well clearly I hope that one day it slips out of your pocket and lands squarely in a pile of rotten eggs. And that you are holding two very important things, one in each hand, that you absolutely cannot let go of so the only way you can retrieve your card is with your mouth.

Wow, you really do hate me hehe

Well I would probably just have to use part of my huge savings to convince someone else to pick up my card for me

See, I think we should all have at least one flunky

I just hate everyone with an Unlimited card because I can't have one, but i'm not jealous of course

The nearest Cineworld to me is an hour and a quarter's commute on three buses and that's just too much to go and watch a film. If I lived a simple bus ride away, i'd literally go and see everything ..

You can pick up pre booked tickets there but there is also the option to buy tickets there rather than waiting at the ticket desk. When there is a long line a member of staff sometimes goes along asking if anyone is paying by card then they could use the machine but that option is not available with the unlimited card.

Hey just to let you know there is another unlimited screening, this time for Total Recall so I guess they are picking up their game on this side of things too.
