But i would recommend anyone considering joining giffgaff too read the forums of complaints & issues on their website. As for Ovivo i haven't used them but i recently tried talk mobile which uses vodafone & found their network to be very lacking. I took a train from Cardiff to Cam&Dursley station & had no signal for the whole journey!. Im currently using three £15 all you can eat data on the surface this seems great but now between 3pm & 12pm three traffic manage the data to a point when its totally unusable so i cant see me staying with them.

I think what im getting at is you get what you pay for & cheap networks are just not reliable.
I have three giffgaff SIM's and have had no issues at all.

Been on Ovivo for a week now, both phone sim and data for my dongle.

Been very impressed.

As for ads, mainly use apps on my phone and not the browser so haven't seen many. On the laptop every couple of pages but easy to skip. I expect over time the ads will be targeted, but at the moment i'm mainly getting ones that I have no need for; contact lenses, pay day loans and cheap holidays.

Only downside is the 12p a minute charge for 0800/0500 numbers (they're free on Giffgaff), but a quick search on SayNoTo0870 finds a geographical alternative.

Well the Ovivo deal didn't last long. Free quota now slashed to

50mins, 50 texts and 100MB

Time to try Giff Gaff's £10 deal
