Thank you cray1975 - yes, I agree, I think that's when Olympic fever will officially start - hopefully some cynics will be won over at that stage too

I hope so too. I know that around 20% of people will never accept the Olympics, but i think many will be won over when they see the Torchbearers and all the smiling children who clearly have the time of their lives along the way

The pictures keep coming and going..........perhaps like a Dover ferry

Going to watch the South East Today special on the relay in Dover. Thank god i have a Sky box that can receive other local BBC services. I love to watch the different ways they cover the event. Looking back over the past few weeks i think BBC North East did the best so far. They seemed to really throw themselves into the Relay.

Hi. I just disoverd this sub thread - but can anyone help

Does anyone know of a set top box that can plug into a TV that ill stream the internet properly, including HTML and up to date Flash 11.3?

For example, the Olympic Torch Relay stream on the BBC site will not work on devices such as Iomega Boxee device because it always looks for the Flash stream rather than HTML5 and this box is supposed to support HTML5.

If this stream works, then anthing else will so if anyone knows of such a box - such as Apple TV - please can you let me know.

Thanks.

Was watching on live cam he is a music teacher called Ben!!

Seemed a lot more people up in the town than down by the harbour or along Tontine street today. All in all this little bit of the South East did the flame proud and the tall ship was such a beautiful site.

The Olympic torch will make a journey by Tube during its relay around London next week.

As the Olympic Torch Relay travels through all 33 London boroughs from Saturday, one leg will be on the front of a tube train on one of the overground sections. Organisers are keeping quiet on which station the torch will travel from.

The flame will also enjoy an open-top bus journey down Oxford Circus, with TfL Commissioner Peter Hendy at the wheel.

Almost 1,000 people will carry the torch during its trip around London, ranging from famous sports stars like Daley Thompson to "local heroes".

Around 10million people have lined the route to see the Olympic flame so far, with another 2million more expected on the trip around the capital.

Any idea when it's meant to be in Oxford Street as that's walking distance for me but I couldn't find Oxford Street on the route map ?

The nearest found to me is at 6 AM to 7AM.............I'm not staying up all night !

We are due to reach Godalming at 17:37 BST - and there are plenty of fascinating facts about the town (see 0743 & 0823).

Irene Green tells us: "Godalming was the first town in the world to have a public electricity supply in 1881. Jack Phillips, senior wireless operator on board Titanic was from the town."

FJ Roberts adds: "Godalming was once visited by Russian Tsar Peter the Great. A plaque was presented to the town by mayor of Moscow."

Just happened to put the torch relay on a few minutes ago to see where it was, and saw a man run out and try to grab the torch from the poor girl. The security team had him bundled to the ground immediately and she carried on. Pictures however got cut immediately but came back on before she had finished her run.
Was so shocked as had just put it on by chance. Watched it back on the BBC feed to check whether it had just been an over eager photo hunter, but no, he definitely made a run at her and the torch.
Crikey!

It's over a month since we saw the torch up here and my enthusiasm, the little I had from the torch has pretty much died down. I'd almost forgotten about it!

There's a lot of Olympic signage around Newcastle but there just seems to be an overall empathetic response towards it.

The relay going through Dorking.........with the crowds out.......and the sunshine too

As TheBilly says it's the final day outside London. How time flies by. It seems like only yesterday Ben Ainslie was walking down that path at Lands End
