pc died
hi all i have been doing some work on my second pc a packard bell imedia a5518uk well today the screen went off and the no signal message came up thought maybe it went off as i not moved the mouse for a bit so i moved the mouse and the wireless transmitter that flashes green when i use the keyboard and mouse did not flash so i tried the keyboard thinking maybe a bit more to it did not work by now i thought maybe it has froze so held the button for a force shutdown it would not turn off so had to unplug then when i plugged it back in the power light will not light up but i can hear and see the fans spinning around
any help would be good i have a feeling its the psu thanks |

If it's powering up making all the normal sounds, then I doubt it's PSU. To me from what you've said it sounds as if the GPU (is it onboard?) could of gone bad. Have you got a graphics card to test this ?

yeah i do have a spare pc about on start up the pc should make a beep sound but its not doing that

Usually PSU or motherboard. The fact there is power going to the fans does not indicate that the PSU is functioning correctly. Either try a spare PSU or go through the usual diagnostic step of disconnecting or removing all non-essential parts and cables (leaving in the CPU & HSF, one stick of RAM and the graphics card, if it has one).

ok good news changed the psu over and is now working
|

Glad you've got it working. But if you've replaced it with an old/cheapy PSU, you may want to buy a decent new one instead. A branded 450W will only cost around £30.
