Missed the last half hour last night, so just caught up.
For me, Roger was the performance of the night. He just has everything and if he doesn't win this, there is no justice in the world. Amazed that ALW sent Tim home over David, but I don't think it had anything to do with his singing performances last night. ![]() I'm guessing David and Niall for bottom two tonight. |

reclinewithme, I agree with all your points. It shouldn't be on every night but I suppose they wanted to get it over and done with before the Olympics started. I don't care for many of the songs. I haven't heard of most of them and I really think a few well-known ones would not come amiss.
I have a feeling that the final is on Tuesday evening. Andrew said "by Wednesday we will have our Jesus" which I took to mean that from Wednesday onwards they will start to put the show into shape. |

I want Jeff to be voted off. He doesn't really have what it takes at the moment - voice not strong enough, acting not that great. I don't like Nathan either. He's too whiny and I thought he ruined the song he sang last night (a song I love). Maybe that\s my dislike of him getting in the way. ![]() As for the others, Rory, Jon, Roger and Ben are my favourites. They're the ones that stand out that can sing well and act. I don't get why ITV are bringing other artists in to perform at the end to use up time now though. Why don't the guys do group performances that show off their acting skills more and being able to perform with others? I don't think it's fair to purely judge on only individual performances of a song. |

Relieved David was saved over Tim.
I like Tim and wouldn't put him in the bottom 2 last night (but I did the night before). He doesn't have the confidence, looks or charisma to be a leading man, he's a character actor. He'd be much better cast as a disciple fisherman. He's the only one of them who looks worse after the make-over, he looked cooler in glasses. I find all his singing generally the same and I wish he had never said his wife hadn't seen him without his top on, that suggests someone with fairly major baggage. But sad to see him go. My thoughts: 1. David - I am loyal to my favourite but obviously he ain't gonna win now. His performance under duress was fabulous. Seems to work the audience a lot better in the room than on TV. 2. Nathan - my other favourite. I think he might win but the public voting is confusing me. Never got the cocky allegation, the most charismatic, individualistic and memorable of all of them. 3. Jeff - still confused if I like him just because he looks like Jesus. If they'd chopped his hair and beard off I might not consider him. 4. Roger - Love Roger but he is not a rock arena performer at all. If I were a nervous producer I'd probably pick him because he has charisma, versatility and reliabilty written all over him. 5. Ben - have moved him up the rankings because he's improving but he isn't a leading man to me. 6. Rory - same as Ben. I've seen hundreds of guys like these over the years, they are good but not memorable enough to stand out in a big cast. 7. Jon - I really like him but what was he wearing when he worked with Mel? I think he's on the wrong show auditioning for the wrong part. He'd be great in a Priscilla type comedy. 8. Niall - has the looks and star quality for TV but he is increasingly exposed and out of his depth. Can't see him as Jesus AT ALL. He'd have done better on Joseph and would be great for a pop musical, comedy or a TV soap. |

Finally Nathan has delivered what the judges have been asking for, though I have found his critique over the last few nights to be uncomfortable viewing. I'm all for constructive criticism, but it seems like they were almost trying to break him down. the word " vulnerable " was tossed around all over the place with ALW even referring to it in his closing comments. It was almost like they were saying " go on, show us some tears and make your chin wobble a bit "
Nathan has an immense stage prescence and a magnificent voice. I truly hope they have broken him to build him up and he goes from strength to strength. Local boy Jeff did good and I hope the people of Northern Ireland are getting behind him. Rory is a front runner but I thought Roxanne was a bit screechy last night. The rest of them are just filler. |

Their extraordinary treatment of Nathan suggests to me that he has been way out in front in the voting so far and he is not ALW's preferred Jesus.

Okay, live show 4. Big improvement.
Sing off: I prefer David, so I wanted him to stay. The singing was fairly even. 1. Niall - 4/10. I don't know what's happened to Niall. He's gone from Irish charmer to looking fierce and unhappy on the stage. I think he should ignore all their comments and revert back to default mode, which worked for him on the first night of the live shows. 2. Rory - 8/10. I thought this was great, such a hard song to sing, and his vocals were great. He does need to come alive a bit more, but I can't criticise him too much when he can sing like that. 3. David - 6/10. Maybe he tried a little bit too hard, but I think he has a lovely tone to his voice, and this was pretty good. 4. Ben - 6/10. Good song, and he performed it well. 5. Jon - 7/10. I thought he sang it really well. I've never heard that song before, but I enjoyed it. I think his personality really shines through. There is no ego there. More about Jon below. 6. Nathan - 7/10. He's like Samson, all the power and ego is contained in the hair! He looked handsome with it tied back tonight, and I thought he sang well. One of my favourites. 7. Roger - 5/10. Very average singing from Roger. 8. Tim - 3/10. I honestly don't understand why people are sad that he's gone, that screaming was awful. 9. Jeff - 5/10. He came a bit more alive tonight, but his singing wasn't great. Top: Rory Bottom 2: This will become null and void, cos all the contestants will get to perform again, but right now it's Niall and Roger, and I want Roger to go. Just a note about the performers and show in general - Have to agree with the comments about Jon. He comes across so well. To be honest, if it was me and ALW had offered me a place on the bench as the '11th man', I wouldn't have been so gracious, and would probably have been thinking, 'Screw you Andrew, you either want me or you don't.' There was none of that with Jon. I wish they would get over the Butlins thing too. I think there is a bit of a problem with some of the contestants in that they are so bland and we don't know enough about them. I feel like I know what Nathan, Jon and Niall are like, they've all managed to put their personalities across. But Rory and Ben are blank canvases right now, and I wish they would showcase themselves a bit better in that regard. It's hard to support them when they don't add any spark to the competition. |

![]() Thing is, though I think Nathan is very talented vocally-I like him a LOT-, I still think he appears to lack maturity with his acting ability-this will develop in time, hopefully. He is experienced stage-wise, however the part of Jesus, does require various emotions and am not sure he's ready for that yet. The way the panel have been almost berating him/hounding him is obviously biased-like they're trying to break his confidence. As for Jason Donovan-let's face it-he's hardly the most skilled vocalist in the world-most in this comp easily knock socks off his singing 'ability' and I think his criticism of Nath in particular, may stem from jealousy

The thing is that it is very difficult working for Butlins. I know I used to work there in the head office in Oxford Street. My daughter was Chief Hostess at Blackpool years ago and she worked her socks off for very little money.
You have to be an all-rounder to work there as a Red Coat. It isn't degrading to work in a holiday camp by no means. |

![]() Makes me wonder what with Jon's Butlins and Nathan's vulnerability if they are the 2 getting the most votes and they aren't the chosen one! |

Loving Jon Moses, I think he has a beautiful voice and nature. Although they are all really good, he for me has the edge.

It all begs the question why put Tim through if you don't think he could do it on stage, and, if you wnat good acting, why send the more successful professionals who would be brilliant at the acting and the singing home at bootcamp? |
