King Crimson at their creative best from 1972. This must be progrock, to categorise their music at the time( actually it seems to have a lot of jazz influences), at its most way out. Can anyone better Larks Tongues in Aspic, or outprog it, as I've heard plenty of very demanding and avant garde prog, but this takes the biscuit.

It's such a shame that a major record label would never touch a band like this in a million years. All they want nowadays are sure things to make a quick buck.

'Court of the Crimson King' was the first 'prog' album I bought, must have been around 1969 ?

A lot closer to Jazz than rock and all the better for it

Yes it was their breakthrough. Also Keith Emerson sang with KC when they supported the Stones in Hyde Park.
