I've chosen a few, but only those who'd actually offer something new. Would Raquel Watts work in today's show? Probably not. Is there any point in Hilda returning other than for a fly-in visit? Nope. Where would Karen McDonald fit in? Exactly where she was eight years ago, between Steve and Tracy. No point in a complete rehash.

However, Debbie Webster would be an interesting addition to the now-incomplete Webster family, I'd love to see how Martin's relationship with David has evolved considering when he left was really the trigger for David to go seriously off the rails. I'd also love to see Sarah make up a reunited Platt family, David's settled now but the rift won't be gone forever.

Throwing Billy Walker into the mix on Wendy Crozier's return would also really shake it up for Ken and Deirdre. She's only had five main loves in her life - Ray, Billy, Ken, Mike and Samir, and three of those are dead! Bringing Shelley back as a confidante for Sunita would be good, and although many chapters are closed for Shelley, I'd like to see her start a new one with mini Charlie, mainly because I loved her so much!

As for Bet, there is so much unfinished business and I truly believe she is one big character who could easily slot right back in. I didn't vote for Mavis, but maybe I should have, because I've always wanted to see her reaction to Norris getting his feet under the table and effectively replacing her with her best friends Rita and Emily.

I want the Stapemeister back. I don't care how, I don't care if he turns up in Fiz's shower, I just want him BACK! He was the most brilliant character, portraying the accidental murderer and I have never laughed so much as when he inadvertently murdered Joy. Sheer Corrie class.

I voted for Karen and Toyah - permanently. And also she's not on the poll, but Janice.

I did nearly vote for Maya too but then changed my mind. I think that storyline was perfect how it was and I wouldn't want for her to come back and them to try and re-do the storyline because I know it wouldn't be half as good as before.

Maya Sharma: In theory yes she's be a great return but It'd just be a rehash of what was done brilliantly 8 years ago.

Toyah Battersby: I would really like this, she left about 6 months after I began watching and I liked her when she was on it. She's Leanne's real family in my eyes (along with Les & Janice).

Suzie Birchall: Was she Gail's mate in the 70's? Sorry not really familiar with older Corrie but I suppose it'd be nice for Gail to have someone new to bounce off.

Liz McDonald: I think they've done all they can with Liz and it's not like they could put her back behind the Rovers now.

Sarah Platt: I'd love to see Sarah back, see how her relationships with Nick, David, Gail, Audrey and Jason have changed. I'd like to see her reactions to Kylie and Tina and It'll be nice to see Bethany who'll be 13 now, I think?

Hilda Ogden: Meh. Maybe for a guest stint but nothing permanent.

Todd Grimshaw: Yes, I'd quite like to see Todd back so long as he got rid of that awful boyfriend he had with him last time. It'd give Eileen better material than the stuff she's currently getting with tiny fireman

Debbie Webster: This is Kevin's sister right? I think it could be interesting the Websters need expanding. Does she have a husband or kids of her own?

Danny Baldwin: No. What would he do? The only real link he has is Leanne

Mavis Wilton: Like Hilda, maybe for a guest stint but nothing permanent

Les Battersby: I miss Les to be honest, I think Chesney, Kirk and Fiz have missed his character and it'd be nice for Leanne to have a reminder that she was once from a rough family

Esther Hayes: No idea who this is sorry

Raquel Watts: No one there now she had a big connection with or a reason to return. She could've returned for Betty's funeral though I gather they were close on-screen

Billy Walker: Someone mentioned he used to be in a relationship with Deirdre, I think he could return then though I've never seen him

Bet Lynch: I think Bet could still easily slot back in

Martin Platt: Like with Sarah, it'd be interesting to see how he gets on with his family now. Plus he has Robyn and his other daughter Caitlin

Karen McDonald: Like with Mad Maya, nice in theory but she'd only be where she was eight years ago when she left

Candice Stowe: I'd quite like this actually I always liked Candice

Ginger Wayne: Who?

Shelley Unwin: I think there's still plenty to do with her and she's hardly short on connections: Sunita, Peter (when he returns), Tracy are all still about plus her reaction to Simon would be interesting to see nine years on and I'd rather have her back behind the bar

Another one not on the list, but I'd like to see Vernon again because I really liked him! Would quite like him to be long term too because I felt a lot of his time was used mooning over Liz. Since she's not around anymore, it'd be nice to see him in his own right.

Definitely Toyah. What is ruining the Leanne and Stella relationship for me is that their are none of Leanne's other family to bounce that relationship off. I want both Toyah and Janice back. They are needed.

Sarah. I've wanted Sarah back for ages now. I'd love to see her relationship with David now because he is not that knob of a child he once was and she would need to accept that. Plus we are missing kids around Bethany's age.
