Quick, everyone, check the comments on the Diary page: there's a very illuminating comment from the previous owner of Liz's horse! She's obviously very upset (quite justifiably) at the way Liz has slagged her off in print.

Some interesting speculation, too, about the situation with the sister that led to Liz buying her a cottage "when I did no wrong".

I think Liz is walking on very thin ice, making all these veiled (and not-so-veiled) swipes in print at people with whom she's fallen out. She seems to forget that other people are real, and they can answer back when they're slagged off.
The full version of this comment has been posted by the owner of the horse on the Liz Jones Appreciation Group facebook page (yes you may laugh but there are some deluded souls about!). She is very angry and says she is seeing a solicitor.

The Facebook posting:

Despite you assuring me that Nellie would be kept alone, she was put in with other horses who ran her ragged, despite this, you kept her in with the ponies, one of which bullied her quite badly. You and your vet subjected her to many unnecessary invasive treatments.

You NEVER had to purchase feed for her, despite your lies to the contrary. Every time I visited I brought more than enough....that goes for the bute and riaflex she was having, I brought DOUBLE the amount that she needed. But you've conveniently forgotten that too.

I offered to bring a trailer load of the bedding I was using for her but you told me NOT TO and that you wanted her on straw. I offered to pay for livery & you said not to worry, she'd keep Dream company because Dream had to come in during the summer months because of her laminitus.

2 £40 plants in 2 £50 pots are NOT tiny....not all of us can shop at Harrods garden center sweetie. Neither is my leaving over £2000 worth of rugs and equipment for you to use with your horses. If you're that skint, ebay them.

Also why on earth did a healthy horse arrive at your yard only to be dead less than 4 months later? She was in full work and as fit as a flea. You were going to ride her because you were scared of your own horse which is the only reason you had her saddle in the first place. Yes that saddle that when I picked it up was green with mould.
Whilst I'm grateful that you provided a "perfect" home for her, you ignored her needs and the perfect home was far from such. I blame YOU 100% for her death.

And finally;
Not once did you ask if I minded if you wrote all about my horse and her subsequent death in your column, I read about how she was put to sleep in a bloody rag of a newspaper. I expect a written apology next week

Jones has surpassed her self for being pathetic. Whinging about people taking money off of her, when she's wasted so much of it on self-indulgent designer crap and body modification. And yet more ridiculous lies about the phantom 'RS'.

And here's another disgruntled, unwilling 'source' [in response to the working mothers article]:
What a pity Liz Jones completely misunderstood my article she has somdisliked. In fact Indid not say that either women or men shouldnnot work at all and be at home making daisy chains all day. As in my book A Home For The Heart which takes a broad look at ways home may be a valuablenand supportive place for us, I was talking about children needing enough of our mindfulness and emotional empathy to value themselves. A rather more nuanced idea which I explore in greater depth in the book.

I've always thought this was a fan thread too. I didn't even know who Liz Jones was. But today I decided to click the last page and scrolled to the link of her latest article. Honestly, if I hadn't come here first, I would have thought that was just some random wannabe Bridget Jones fanfiction (but a snobby, unlikeable version.) When I first went on the site and I saw her picture my first thought was "she's got a really slappable face." I felt guilty - until I started reading the piece. Oh boo-hoo, you haven't got enough room for your horses. Waah-waah, you're too generous and nice and people take advantage of you being rich and famous. I take it she is like this all the time? I don't know how she has managed to spawn a "Part 3." I am irritated having just read one of her articles and have no desire to read anymore! Liz, I hope next time you visit your precious horse it pisses in your face!
It normally bites, kicks or barges her so you never know your luck.

BIB I often think that this vet that Liz is continually calling out (usually in the middle of the night) just sees her as a cash cow and will carry out procedures/give medication where none are necessary.

If the FB posting is accurate - and there's no reason to believe otherwise (apart from a 40 year old horse being fit, active and in full work) then Liz really has sunk to a new low. It also confirms what we have suspected - that Liz is scared of her own horse.

She's wearing those bloomin' shoes again. Does she only have one pair? And to think she criticises Kate for wearing the same nude shoes a lot.
And yes, there is a picture of her. Fortunately not one showing the after-effects of the disco pants.

It's like she has Maunchausen Syndrome by Proxy and she projects all these illnesses onto the poor horses for her own gain.

Yes, this has been raised before about Liz, and if she really has this condition then the next step for sufferes is to deliberately or subconciously inflict actual harm themselves. I once worked with a woman who used her own daughter like this for attention and time off work, she was eventually sectioned when it was found out what she had been doing but I'll never forget the euphoric look on her face as she would describe in detail the examinations and treatments this poor child had to go through and how she'd wallow in the sympathy and attention. I do hope the horse's owner takes action against her for this.

On the disco pants article which I skimmed over (not much point in fully reading that tosh) there was one comment that tickled me

There were some great scathing posts on the Wail website but THIS one is my ultimate favourite from the "I'm Going To Slag Off My Dying Mother" column (and I hope Julie from Plymouth doesn't mind me putting it on here ):

The worst thing Liz Jones' poor old mother did was to allow her daughter to grown up to be such a lazy, selfish slob. No doubt the poor woman was so overworked that she failed to see what was happening with her youngest daughter. You can picture Liz, loafing around all day, moaning about her hard life (putting on make-up and reading magazines) and sneering at everyone who wasn't Liz Jones. Not much change there, then.
- julie b, plymouth, 15/7/2012 19:08

The whole post is great but she builds up a great picture of a teenage Liz Jones - I can well imagine her being like that!

And many, many thanks to Lilaeth for giving us the full version of the comment from Nellie's former owner. I hope she takes LJ to the cleaners!

Hi everyone, I dont post that often but come on here now and again. I have to say that I had to look at LJ's Appreciation Page on FB as I could not believe there was such a thing and was so shocked to find there is! What on earth are those people on or are they related to her (Oh no that wouldnt work as she doesnt like most of her relatives). It did give me a giggle I must admit and I love the post slagging her off from the horses owner. You go girl let her have it! I then had the misfortune to see a link to LJ in a bikini which I hadnt seen before. Apparently her body is not air brushed, well her face is that is for sure!

We're quite kind about the bikini. She doesn't look bad at all./

Sad thing is, if the ONLY nice thing you can say about a person is that the look good in a bikini for a 50+ year old, there ain't a lot going for them.

I'm ten year younger but don't look so good in a bikini. On the plus side, I've never taken custody of any animal and caused it harm nor caused it's owner grief

Oh here we go. Apparently La Brick has been a gullible idiot since at least her early 20s:
Samantha Brick: The cult that tried to take over my life

"At the time I was 25 and single, earning £50,000 a year as a TV producer and living alone in my own London flat. I didn’t realise it then, but I was having what some psychologists refer to as a ‘quarter-life crisis’. Suddenly, I was bored with going out every weekend, where the most meaningful questions posed by my friends were which trendy nightclub guest-list were we on and how many glasses of complimentary champagne we could consume.".......... Surely a misprint, shouldn't it read "I was 25, single and beautiful, earning £50K". Also, has anybody else heard of a "quarter-life crisis"?

"I felt uncomfortable sharing my private thoughts".......... Liar.

"She told me that a man she had cured of his fear of flying had bought her a red Mercedes sports car that was parked on the drive.".......... Ah, now I'm beginning to see where some of her inspiration comes from - is this an early incarnation of men spontaneously giving Brick flowers/buying her petrol etc?

"I realise this sounds ludicrous".......... Ah, a glimmer of self-awareness..?

"I overheard two assistants discussing the guru’s plan to ‘match’ me with a follower who worked for her full-time — an average looking man 15 years older than me. I felt deeply uncomfortable about this."..........
an "average looking man"???? The HORROR!

Come on now Fatsia, step AWAY from the daily mail....

I actually found it hard to tell the difference between Shona Sibary and Sam Brick in their articles this week. And there didn't appear to be any other Liz articles, so perhaps this is the DM's way of ensuring we have enough 'angry, middleaged, female, confessional and slightly bonkers' journalists to keep us amused whilst Liz moves house?

No need - according to Nic's Facebook page they're moving, with ALL the animals, to a new place in the Swale valley just outside Richmond, North Yorkshire... conveniently, where her partner in Good Food Nation Isobel Davies has an ethical fashion business.

Homeless my arse.
Where can I find Nic on facebook?

Another couple of postings from Jacqueline Ireland, the horse owner - in reply to a couple of sympathetic replies to her post:

Thank you Shelley Georgina Trimy. Reading her pack of lies about Nel & I really hit me hard. It was a year ago Friday that my mare died. Why she waited a year almost to the day to publish a complete pack of lies I don't know. But I will be seeing a solicitor this week regarding defamation of my character as well as tarnishing the memory of my horse unless she apologises PUBLICLY in the meantime.

and

She doesn't need to reply here. I've complained to the press complaints commission & they are looking at my complaint. I want a written published apology, an insincere reply to a post on facebook isn't going to do it.

"Why was I never a princess? Why? Why? Why?"

Waa waa waaaaaaaaaaaa! Poor Liz in her Hermes trainers. (We've all seen the grey nylon Adidas trackies but will turn a blind eye)

Only she could use a proposal (let's just suspend real life at this point) and turn it into a poor me episode.

I wish she would stop mentioning Nirps. It does my head in. Get over it and leave the poor fellow out of it.
