^ Are Usher's and Chris Brown's albums R&B or are they just pop/dance, maybe influenced by R&B (like Rihanna's)? I've only heard the singles.

A hidden gem from 2000 is Kandi's "Hey Kandi" album. She wrote hits for TLC and Destiny's Child before launching her own solo effort.

Lucy Pearl's album is an absolute must-have.

Mya's "Moodring" was a really strong album and worthy of downloading.

And of course the r&b staples would be any TLC record.

No they are RnB otherwise i wouldn't have put them, two of them even won best RnB album at the Grammys. I know Chris only releases dance singles to the UK ATM though as the RnB songs just dont do well in the charts over here right now.

no, they arent RnB. Usher and Chris Brown only win because no one else in the mainstream is making RnB anymore, with the exception of Frank Oceans new album. there have been numerous complaints in the music world about them winning those awards for albums that are pop and dance. im so happy tyrese, tank, and ginuwine are forming a group to show these suckers what Rhythm and Blues is all about.

that's what it was. still just a pop album, though. if she wants to make rnb she should start writing her own music instead of having her writers do all the work so she can have 2 albums in a year. that's crazy and just shows that no time goes into her work. her music in rated r was just uber sexualized pop with urban backing tracks so people call it rnb.

Chris Brown new Fortune album.
I wouldnt classify any of Rihanna's album as Rnb because she is not an Rnb singer imo.
Usher Confessions.
about Frank Ocean's Channel Orange who is vastly overrated. In 2 or 3 months we wont even hear about him again.
Even though Im not really a Beyonce's fan, I have to admit that she had a couple of good Rnb albums.
Monica and Brandy as well.

Yes they are, you should take a listen to their albums and not judge just of of the singles. They are RnB with a couple of pop crossover hits. Didnt Tank collaborate with Chris btw recently?

i bought the albums. the arent rnb albums. they have rnb influences, but you can not call it an rnb album. also, what does them collaborating have to do with anything? that doesnt automatically make the album rnb, it means there is an rnb song that isnt pop, but the overwhelming majority of the album is pop with rnb influences. jennifer hudsons first album was more rnb than fortune

Both Frank Ocean albums, all of The Weeknd's, Usher - Confessions, Prince - Sign of the Times.

And I'd say Drake - Take Care is more R&b than hip-hop, that's a great album.

Chris Brown's new album just sounds like turd to me.
