Atari Lynx
Did anyone else have an Atari Lynx in the 90s?
I came across mine the other day. It still works, but the joypad wouldnt go up. Found Rampage and Tods Adventures in Slimeworld. |

Years ahead of its time, completely let down by its library. More third party, and it could have revolutionised everything, rather than being merely a footnote in history.

I never had one but I remember it. Me with my non-colour gameboy and my mate with his colour Lynx! I thought it was amazing.
Rampage definitely rules, I have got it on my Iphone for old times-sake. |

I had a model 1 Lynx and for what it was, it was a cool machine, I was the only person pout of my circle of friends at the time who did. I was blown away by the graphics on Blue Lightning, the sprite scaling was well above the capabilities of either the Gameboy or Game Gear.
Unfortunately it broke only a few days of owning it and I ended up getting a Gameboy instead as it just had better games, battery life and portability. I could also play the GB in school which I couldn't really do with the Lynx.

I had a Mk1 Atari Lynx which my nan and grandad brought for me.
I also had an Atari Lynx travel bag that held all of my games and accessories. The game that I had on the Atari Lynx were as Followes. Blue Lightning Batman Returnes Hard Drivin Roadblasters Miss Pacman I also had a puzzel game which I remember we brought from Woolworths in Chelmsford when it was there. I can't remember what the name of this game is but I think that there was a gray board with shapes and you had to move the shapes. And I think there was someone holding up a sword on the front cover. The best game that I had was Roadblasters. It was an excellent game. And I thought the graphics were superb and the game play was very fast. It would be nice to see Atari Lynx game released on the 3DS eShop. |

I still have my Atari Lynx and most of the games that were released.
Can't believe that I paid £170 when it was first released and then bought a second one for £29.99 from Dixon's when they cleared them out! The Lynx was way ahead of its time but suffered the fate of all later Atari hardware poor marketing and third party support! The fact it was left or right-handed, full colour and that you could "link" up to play multi player was fantastic! My favourite games are: California Games Warbirds Rampage Hockey Klax Steel Talons Blue Lightning Batman Returns and of course the one that should have been...Alien v Predator! |

I was only about 8/9 when these were around. I remember constantly playing on the display Lynx in our local Tandy store! I opted for a Game Gear later on, but to this day still remember how cool the Lynx seemed
