Looks a cut above a lot of yank comedies to me.

Interesting to see its reception elsewhere as its proving to be quite a big hit in the states - $168m and rising.

you can get the tickets in advance (unlike normal tickets), i picked mine up last week when i went to watch another movie

they will also give you a free pack of minstrels as well!

looking forward to it almost as much as TDKR

I saw this at an advanced screening at my local vue on Wednesday. Bit of a slow start for the first 20 or so minutes, but beyond that undoubtedly the funniest movie I've seen so far this year. Can completely tell that this is from the mind of Seth McFarlane.

its pretty good . Ted himself is brlliantly done , you just don't even think about it its so natural .

the fight scene is fantastic , one of the best fights in cinema history , really cathartic !

It's a lot like Family Guy style humour, some of it misses the mark but it mostly hits.

Saw TED at an advance screening last night and i thought it was hilarious and this coming from someone who doesnt like family guy.

its the first time i have seen Mark Walberg in a laugh out loud role like this, (i wasnt keen on"the other guys" either) but i loved the movie, loved the relationship between him and ted and loved the 80s references, especially Flash, being an 80s kid!
there is something about movie referencing within movies that i love and there was some of that too..

its bittersweet at heart and you will leave the cinema smiling..

Saw this on the weekend and loved it!

I wasn’t all that fussed about seeing it at first; although the animation looked good, I was worried the film would suffer the same problems as Family Guy has had since 2007; extreme randomness to a pointless extent, and scripts written on the belief that swearing and crudity by themselves are funny.

Fortunately, my negative apprehensions were proven false, I thought it was pretty good. In fact, it was just like what Family Guy once was and should be again; there was randomness and pop culture references (loved the Flash Gordon stuff), but it still had a good narrative to go with it. And the swearing/crudity wasn't too OTT, most of it was pretty funny; at least there was no excessive blood and throwing up in every second scene.

McFarlane adapted to the different medium really well, I hope to see more like this from him in future.

I absolutely loved it. Funniest film I have seen in a long time. Best bit was the party in Ted's apartment, "Flash" p*ssing off Ted's chinese neighbour and the subsequent fight - Flash with Mr Ming the Merciless and Ted with Mr Ming's supper. Lol and Lol again.

Didn't want to see this, thought it was a one-horse (bear) gimmick movie.

Wrong

it manages to be sweet AND foul-mouthed whilst being a character comedy which is actually about something;maturity, puttting away childish things, the passage to manhood.
And d#ck jokes.

More complex than The Dark Knight Rises.

No, really...

My friend and I went to see it yesterday and loved it. Definitely the funniest film I've seen since 'Borat' - 8.5/10

I thought it was going to be another Borat or the Hangover, I don't really like Family guy either, so I was surprised to like this. It was so funny though, i was in stitches at points.
Sam Jones and Giovanni ribisi were hilarious 

I thought it was disappointing and like an over long episode of Family Guy. I only laughed a couple of times.

I love Seth MacFarlane and his influence was clearly stamped all over this but he really needs to show what else he can do now.

Absolutely loved it.

Even the bits I'd seen dozens of times in trailers had me laughing out loud.

Definitely my kind of humour, the animation was brilliant, after a scene or two I even forgot Mila Kunis is Meg (Which I usually can't overlook)

So many great touches, like Ted sitting on the dog instead of a horse.

9/10 - hilarious.

I thought the trailer was good, watched the whole film and didn't think it was that good. It had it's moments but most of the funny parts are in the trailer...

I watched this Saturday and loved it. The job interview part and the same guy a bit later on where he gets promoted had me in stitches.

Replace the word film with programme and it's what I thought of Frankie Boyle's première CH4 programme!

This is exactly what I said to someone after I saw it! Saw this last night, funny, great, funny! If I had to pick out a couple negatives, it would be that 1-2 gags ran on a little too long to the point I was saying 'yeah, I get it now' and... erm.. I think that was it! That's a minor point, especially when there were so many great moments - the first one was

had me in tears and that was within the first five minutes!!

Are you saying you were literally crying with laughter at that scene? It wasn't even that funny, and certainly didn't go on long enough with any more than one or two sentences of "funny" material that could have warranted someone laughing so hard they cried. Do you cry a lot when you laugh?!

I wasn't brawling, no, but I notice you don't question someone else who said they were in stitches - do you think they actually had to go to hospital for surgery due to laughing so hard?!
My eyes were wet from laughing hard - it wasn't only what they said but the quick change of reaction and the reaction itself. What may be funny to you may not be funny to another and vice versa - hence why I said it had me in tears not that it will have you in tears, also bear in mind the scene in the film that I saw may be longer than the one that you saw in the trailer.

Must say, as a big Family Guy and American Dad fan, I didn't really think much of Ted.

It was okayish and some of the situational comedy was funny but it was a poor story.

I kinda got the feeling that that the idea of a "grown up" teddy bear was good but they didn't really develop it enough, beyond writing a couple of good set-piece gags which all made it into the trailers.

This film is ridiculously over-rated, simply because its a Seth Macfarlane project. Although I like the Family Guy humour, it can't hold up an entire feature film. There wasn't really a plot in the first place- there has to be meaning the crassness. Also, there were too many in-jokes and references, alienating the audience a bit. I didn't like the meaningless backstabbing of Brandon Routh and a disgusting 9/11 joke. Call me a spoilsport, whatever, but I just found it disgusting that people in the audience laughed at that. A bit sad, really.
