I thought the x factor rules for contestants stated that anyone with a record deal cant take part in the competition, Starboy Nathan has a single and album. So if im right about the rules he cant be through to judges houses

If Rylan was the first act of the day and I was in the audience and I think it was he - he was awful, out of tune, can't believe he is through. There were much better in his category. Starboy Nathan was good but I really think this show/competition should be for amateurs only and not for has-beens or anyone who has had a record deal before. Lucy Spraggon was amazing. The girl band From Above were awful - so bad they were stopped and asked to begin again, and weren't any better second time. There was a girl at the end of the first session played the piano while she sang and she was good and Dale Ali the young lad who sang Earthquake was the first to have the audience on their feet and got a standing ovation. Didn't stay for the evening session.
Sorry - didn't mean to hijack a JH post!

Yeah, Rylan was the first act of the day, he was terrible, shocked they've put him through, guess he'll be the joke act! He maintains that he wants to be a dance artist, so if he gets through to the lives, I'd like to see how he adapts to the changing themes! From what I've seen posted on Twitter, it looks like From Above never got through bootcamp, not really a surprise, and also Dale Ali who you mentioned didn't get through either!

Not another sing and dance man that can't sing.

Not sure why everybody thinks Rylan will be the "joke act" when we haven't even seen him yet, y'all aren't giving him a chance. He'll surely be winning everybody over with his charm after his first performance tbh.

He will be changing your mind when you see what a great guy he is.

Two people who have seen him clearly don't think very much of his voice?

At bootcamp, he sang Don't Cha by the Pussycat Dolls with a dance track in the background, completely out of tune. He even admitted he's not the best singer, he just seemed too eccentric, his choice of outfit was very unusual as well, but he said that's who he is. That's why I think he's a joke act! Also, I'm not really interested about his charm, I'd rather a better singer, who weren't as in your face as he is, be let through to Judges Houses instead of him!

I was at the morning session of bootcamp and have to say the talent this year was absolutely unreal. That Starboy was good singing earthquake but have seen hes done a hell of a lot regarding links with xfactor, i.e being on tour with jls etc which i think could potentially go in his favour. That Lucy girl with the guitar was great! And as for that Rhylan/Rylan guy , he was the first guy on, the second he came out the crowd just lit up, he had such an infectious personality and completely won the audience over, he sang pussycat dolls dont ya and did his own spin on it, i didnt recognise the track as it was like a remix of it and it was very dance. Personally i think he sang it well , granted not the best of the day, but to be fair this is xfactor not the voice and he is the sort of person i would want to watch every saturday night, not some boring same old amazing singers like the voice! So AS SOMEONE WHO WAS THERE appreciate, everyone has their opinon, but personally this guy stuck in my head and i hope he did make it through as i feel i hadnt seen anyone else like him throught the day. No one really "news-worthy" other than him.

I went to both sessions, and in all fairness, he did stick in my head out of the boys of the first session (granted for a different reason than you!), but that was because there weren't many, and the others weren't that great either! However, there were many talented boys in the second session, I just think its a shame they've been cast aside in favour of him, even though its The X Factor and not The Voice, the winner still gets a record contract! He's definitely gonna be a marmite character though, just like Frankie Cocozza from last year!
