yes, I cano confirm by adding the SD streams to the echostar that the freesat ones are HD.

but:
a) the quality is rubbish compared to Euro 2012 (BBC and ITV)
b) the graphics for London 2012 look like 10 year old graphics, which is a REAL shame (though Off topic) and they should have used either a BBC or ITV type, or even a Rugby world cup type.

Mine was the same, just done a full re-tune and it all works now.

It's a Goodmans GFSAT100SD, resetting has resolved the issue and is also allowing me to access the streams directly without having to use the red button.

Sorry disagree, i watched a bit of the women's football today and flicked between ch151,152,153 and thought the HD picture quality was great.

I had the 24 Olympic HD channels tuned into my Panny TV as soon as they became available - non Freesat mode. I had no signal on some but today I tried the SD variants all of which had some content.
The deal is I have channels 1,4,7,10,15,18,21 & 24. All the rest show no signal. My query is were some of the parameters changed on the missing channels after their initial start up e.g. symbol rate or modulation leaving the SID the same because it looks like the recent STV & Channel 4 change where my TV can't retune to any changes if the SID stays the same. If this is so, I can only rectify this by a full reset.
Advice please.

I set my BS850 to record the matches on ch 152 and 153 yesterday (My foxat looked after the matches on 151 no problem ) They failed. Checked the channels got the 'no signal' message. After much re-scanning and dish tweaking, I did the factory reset. That fixed the 'no signal' problem. This is the third time that this box has required a factory reset to fix obscure problems

Somewhat relieved to hear that it's not just me then. The problem for me is that my Panny D25 is refusing to add channels to my now non existing EPG:@ Panasonic recommend a full reset but I may loose everything I have if I do that if there is a fault with the TV.
I already have the SD variants stored so I I'll just make do with those and try the factory reset when the games are over.

Why must humax boxes be left in standby and what's the scenario here?
thanks

A few housekeeping processes run overnight to add/update channels and to generate thumbnails of the recordings (and probably a few other things I can't remember.) But the box will only do this if it's in standby and not recording at 3am.

Did you input the transponder settings manually? It may be the Freesat part of the box doesn't know about the new settings for the frequencies that changed when they made them HD S2, so you may need to do a reset unfortunately.

Yep, tried manual scan with everything, setting S/R, Pol, Modulation & SID, but it says no new channels found. With the SID remaining unchanged my tuner thinks it already has the channel stored into memory. This happened with Channel 4, STV & BBC when they switched to 1N. It looks like I'mj just going to have to do the reset, but as I said I'll wait till after the games & hopefully sort out my missing EPG as well.

"We're sorry to say that Humax can't currently fix the bug that prevents recording of the 24 Olympic Channels on their freesat+ box."

"We’ve tried really hard with Humax to sort out. You *can* record from BBC One & BBC Three. All other freesat+ boxes can record 24 streams."

"It's been an Olympic feat in itself to get the 24 streams working and we really hope this doesn’t stop you enjoying London 2012."

Having read your posts Kerry about your Panasonic t.v. I had a similar problem over STV HD in non freesat mode with a Panasonic freesat recorder. The advice I got from another poster on the STV HD forum page was to restore to shipping conditions.
I tried this, but the first attempt did not succeed because of the problem with the SID and the fact that I scanned in non Freesat mode for free to air channels only.
So I tried again but this time scanned for free and pay channels and this worked. It might be that for the tv to pick these up that you need to scan for both free and pay as (unless l'm wrong) Sky is providing the streams for the Olympic broadcasts. That being the case the t.v. might have these flagged as encrypted and ignore them unless you also scan for pay too. Hope this helps.

lol wut

How can channels not be recordable and then this situation not be fixable? If it works on every other box, what on Earth is different about the Humax boxes?

Humax is the most popular high-end choice for Freesat so I bet a hell of a lot of people will be angry about this.

Channel 4 HD had the same symptoms on the Foxsat HDR before the channel launched. In that case the broadcaster managed to change something in the transmission to work around the issue.

It's transmitted partly over 3G:

Think it's BBC in MediaCityUK it's going through. All the Olympic feeds are going through the BBC Sport Centre in Salford so I presume torch cam will be the same.

That's why it look like it's recorded on an iphone. I think there are better ways.

@JKA167. I'm resolved to the idea of a factory reset but that's not my only problem. At the moment I have no EPG & the only way to access channels is via the channel up/ down button or input the channel number.
If I try a timer programme for USB HDD I get a message saying " no channel list available" & can't find where it might be. DVB-T is working fine.
Kinda really peed off with Panasonic at this stage with their service to ROI customers.

So who is to blame? Who isn't sticking to the specs? The BBC transmission or the Humax box?

What is different with the transmission that no other channel has?

Another plus for HTPC set ups - Tune it in, go straight to it, record it or set up a recording from it on the fully populated EPG.
