Where is Tello going? He seemed like another very promosing prospect from I saw of him last season.

I seem to recall he's being chased by two or three La Liga teams plus some others . He does seem a bit of a one trick pony I guess.

Barcelona and Santos have reached a 60M deal on the transfer of Neymar. Still has to be decided if he joins now or in 2013.

We were just discussing him in the United thread, and said that a price tag of £50 million might have been acceptable, but £60 is a very steep price tag.

Interesting to see how he would fit in to the team at Barcelona, what would be the ideal formation then?

I'm fairly sure it's €60 million ( Euros) anyways , so whats that in £ ??

Normal 8 plus a pretty 'fluid' front three of Sanchez , Messi , and Neymar .

I assume most of the top players arent likely to be playing against Sampdoria with it being squeezed inbetween the Real Sociedad and Real Madrid matches?

We already have tickets for the Madrid match, just wondered if it's worth going to the Sampdoria game as well.

Plan B of pushing the young denders through this season just looks to have hit the first hitch ...

The first tests have shown Muniesa has torn his right knee ligaments. He could be out for the whole season.

Interesting Twitter stat .

Nice to see Higuain featuring so well . He's one of only two Madrid players I'd welcome at Barca .... Incidentally, the other is Ozil

Most goals excluding penalties in top 5 leagues since '09:

Messi 100 - Ronaldo 88 - DiNatale 65 - Gomez Higuain 59 - VanPersie 53

Im normally critical about the whole twitter quoting stuff but that is a really interesting and surprising stat tbh.

Well i assume you verify these things before you post?

Hence a) my initial gripe with just posting direct from twitter and b) my surprise at this.

Are we saying that you just post anything that appears on Twitter even if you doubt it yourself?

I wonder if we will ever get foreign football in 3D?
It is probably a bit too expensive I would imagine to do so at the moment.

Well to be fair , BarcaStatistics are normally spot on , just seems a tad low . Although in hindsight they are only 'league' goals which is about right .

I thought it was a bit low for Messi as the refs are always giving barca pens

I wonder if the Eusabio Cup will give you any confidence going into the season!
Real lost 5-2 to Benfica.

I'm dreading it tbh . New manager . We can't afford to lose ground early on as I expect Madrid to have a storming start to the season .

Thanks for that bit of hope

Although presumably they fielded a weak team ...

How can you be dreading it, you have the spine of the World and European champions (how Valdes remains uncapped is the worlds biggest crime), plus you have Messi, if you are still not satisfied, you are beyond help!

Well Madrid had a better squad last season and presumably they will improve over the coming weeks , whereas we have lost Pep G , Keita and Abidal with Alba coming in .

The league could be out of our grasp by October if Madrid hit the ground running . Tito is not a guaranteed success by any means , loads of number 2's don't make it .

Yeah , he's expected to be ready for the start of the season but Villa and Pedro were well under-par at the start of last season BEFORE their injuries , I don't expect much from either this season , Villa's a year older and has had an horrendous injury to recover from some 'experts' reckon than the defenders in Spain have simply worked out how to play against Pedro .

I really feel that the only way we will jump back above Madrid is if we get Neymar in the best few weeks , which is possible but unlikely . I reckon that Pep will return next season and Neymar will join us at the same time .

How many sports clubs does Barcelona have? I've seen us play them in Basketball and (Water)Polo. Just wondered if they had more?
