Taking my ipad to the olympics

Anyone know if it is allowed? It would be useful for entertaining my children while waiting in our seats

Yes, they're okay, but a lot of things aren't:

So if I go with my nike trainers, I will be ok

But if I turn up with my work mate, and all 7 of us have nike trainers, we could be reused

At no point are we armbushing the sponsours, it just that we had these trainers on specila offer in out shop and we got 20% of the price

No you won't be refused. They aren't going to look at what make people's trainers are.

So much for that. All you could hear today was vuvuzelas when they are apparently banned.

Where was that then?

Left my iPad behind in the end but it would have been fine, they just make you empty your bag into a clear plastic bag for security then you can put it all back once you're inside.

It was said on The One Show last night, but maybe it only applies to the Stratford sites.

Yes, you'll be taken to a private room and forcibly made to purchase a pair of Adidas at 200 quid a throw

Dont know where exactly the link is, but they have been reportedly being heard saying, if a group come together, and have branded clothing, this group maybe refused

But if one or two in the group have nike trainers, then they will be ok, to gain entry

That rule is to prevent 'ambush marketing' - McDonald's is a sponsor I think, so if you and your 20 mates all turn up wearing Burger King t-shirts I would imagine you'd be given the bum's rush.

I think I read that adidas is a sponsor, so I wonder how they'll feel about all the people wearing images of Nike....the medal winners. Since the start in 1896, all olympic medals have had an image of Nike on the front.

The likelihood of 20 people turning up together all wearing Nike trainers is very remote.

They don't need to turn up at the gate together ; I'm assuming all tickets are for numbered seats.

Or possibly that was what you (very subtly) meant.

The 1st womens football match. There were vuvuzelas and air horns etc. The document posted above says that they are banned.

In Coventry? That's where we were... Didn't see / hear any vuvuzelas but there was a bloke not far from us with an air horn in the first half. Hr had packed it away before the 2nd half thankfully, cos it was a right racket!
