If Channel 4 took Big Brother back...

Would you be happy? Would it mean less of the trashiness and showiness that, at times, plagues the Channel 5 version and, of course, a return to the infamous live feed? It'll never happen of course, but in a hypothetical scenario, what would your initial reaction be?

Myself, if it could come back as it was up until about 2005/2006, I'd be happy!

For me it is the housemates which make the show....nothing to do with what channel it is on.

I would be very happy.

I think the perfect thing would have been that it ended with BB11 in 2010. Then it should've returned on C4 in 2015. A five year break could rejuvenate the show, as it had become pretty boring by BB11, they could iron out any problems and launch with a bigger and newer audience!

Channel 4 quite liked showmances, which I don't.

Channel 5 has better and more entertaining tasks. I like the flashbacks, too.

People seem to think that waiting a few years will make it big again, it will never be a BIG show again.

People know about it, not unless you wait about 20 years and hope to introduce a new audience are you going rejuvenate Big Brother.

And I don't understand why "fans" would want rid of the show for 5 years?

People have short memories.

The last few series on C4 were abysmal, C5 have actually gone back to a more old school approach and the show is much better for it.

I partially agree. Stuff like a reduced series length, less of a revolving door effect, vote to save etc. have been needed for a very long time. But BB has also missed a trick by isolating half the audience.

All this pandering to the TOWIE-type audience is ridiculous. The nametags, montages, a lot of housemates with no substance etc. They forgot the those types of shows only do well on digital channels whereas BB used to be able to hold its own on terrestrial. BB used to appeal to both the younger audience and an older one but for some reason they didn't cotton on to this and only wanted half the audience. Shot themselves in the foot really.

Yet it's still very telling that the housemates that have won are Paddy, Aaron and Denise. With it set to be one of Deana / Adam / Luke A this time. That IMO is very telling as to how the majority feel about a more TOWIE-esque approach.

Not at all. In fact, I absolutely loathed how PC they became towards the end.

For example, the fake tan task that Alex did last series when she ended up looking almost black - There's NO WAY IN HELL Channel 4 would have allowed that.

I would be happy because the production on Channel 4 is better. But the one thing I want back is Davina as the main host or even Emma. And either Jeff Leach or Iain Lee on BBBOTS

I preferred it on channel 4, mainly for the live feed don't like the way ch 5 flash through the tasks, gives me a headache watching it half the time, just not enough detail on ch t5 and to much BS per episode and not enough of what has been going on, for eg we have NEVER seen them prepare a meal, I miss little things like that and long for the chit chat not just what ch 5 think is the most entertaining chats and then only give us a bit of the story
