The BT "Flatsharing" Ads should be made into a sitcom!

I love these ads, theres a new one out at the minute with all the spanish girls taking over the flat

I reckon this has potential to be a great full on sitcom!!

You can find out more about the characters here

No. No. No.

It didn't work with the Geico Cavemen and this is even worse.

That's my point. No good comes of these attempts to make more of so little.

They really shouldn't. They don't even work as ads.

Flat sharing? Sad bloke, can't get a girlfriend? Regular, somewhat boring guy? Attractive girl not really interested in either of them?
Yes, it could work, Game On!

Good God no. Its bad enough that that gimp is still fronting them.
I assume from the ads that the BT router has lousy wifi coverage as they all have to be in the same room to use it.

The Spanish girl and the Guy who answers the door are a mirror image of each other. They could be siblings.

A sitcom would be terrible neither of them can act.

The 'sad bloke' looks like the others' Dad!

I've only heard it a couple of times cos I turn the sound off now when they're on. Each new one is more irritating than the last.

BT obviously hope that - apart from the sad bloke - lots of pretty faces will entice us to buy.

Most of the programmes I watched I've V+ for the specific reason of fast forwarding through all the ads. Specially those like this.

Perhaps they could set it in Mumbai, where all my calls to BT end up!

The thing about commercials is that they are often not a reflection of the performing abilities of those taking part.

Even Gary Lineker comes across as a fine comic performer in his crisps thing, in no way is he a fine comic performer.

They do take after take after take to get the nuance just right.

You can't do any kind of TV comedy like that.

'Simon' would be able to carry a sitcom I reckon. Even if it's just for one series.

I am still amazed that 'Simon' is played by the same actor (Daniel Rigby) who portrayed Eric Morecambe in that Eric and Ernie Biopic on over New Year 2011. I would never have realised if I hadn't been intrigued to find out who that actor was and what he'd been in before. He was really good in that drama. I actually have warmed to him in these ads too. He's quite funny.

Man, viral marketers use to at least try to be hidden as normal posters

The only thing these adverts have got going for them is that 'Joe' is fairly cute.

He should do gay porn.

Usually they end up wishing they hadn't bothered when they see the responses.

I agree. I like the ads, they are funny and I have warmed to the characters. My favourite part is when Simon says "Custard Cream" at the end of the Spanish girls ad.

Bit weird though - if you look at the FB pages on that link, Simon was born in 1985, Anna in 1987, and Joe in 1993. What's the reason for them sharing a flat?

Do you belong to the ad agency that created this puerile crap, or are you associated in some way with it? Because I can't think of any other reason to make such an ill-considered statement.
