As nobody at Netflix wants to help I thought it would be worth a try here.

I can log in to Netflix on my laptop but the password will not be accepted on any apple app.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I know a few users of the app have by reading the app reviews but no mention of a resolution.

Sorry I meant the Netflix app specifically for the iphone and ipad

Ok. I use the US Netflix app and have no problem with it. Never tried the app from the UK AppStore. What error message do you get?

If I was you I would contact Netflix directly

Have you tried a power cycle of device? Have you tried force closing the app?(double tap home button to bring up open apps then delete Netflix) Have you tried going to your account via laptop and changing your login details to something different?
Have you tried calling 0800 096 6379?

Thanks all for coming back to me but I have been stupid.

I was until the last hour a previous user with no active sub and it turns out this can only be reinstated from the desktop software.

All reactivated and now logged in. Sorry again

I've just signed up for a weeks trial with Unblock-Us, from this thread, i see people talking about Pay Pal, but can someone tell me if you can pay for this service with a UK (Visa) debit card?

Thanks for your help (not), it's hardly difficult to actually give an answer, the quality of this place is just going down hill!

I had a look on the Unblock website, and it states credit cards and from reading other forums, and google, it isn't all that clear if it is only credit cards and not debit ones.

I think I used PayPal, but it was from my debit card which is linked to it, if that helps.

Thanks, just signed up for pay pal, so just going thru' how it all works etc etc, the Unblock website itself isn't all that clear about how it charges, i did see on one forum someone mention they pay in Canadian Dollars using Pay Pal, so unless i was going thru' the debit/credit card checkout so to speak, i have no idea if at that stage it changes to the currency of the card, i've seen this on some other sites, everything is in $ until you get to the card details then it changes to £.

Might be the safer bet to use Pay Pal.

Hey everyone. I've just heard about unblock-us and I have a question. I figured it'd be better to ask here than create a new thread. I'm currently living in Germany and I'd like to be able to access US Netflix if possible. I have a friend in the UK (with a UK Netflix account) who used unblock-us and his Apple TV to access the US content. My question is do I have to have a US Netflix account or could I set up a UK one (as I have a UK bank account and valid address). Basically, I need a Netflix account and to be able to access US Netflix from Germany. Is this a typical use of the unblock-us service? Thanks in advance, it's much appreciated.

You will need to setup a free 7 day trial with unblock-us first and follow instuctions to setup device, then set the Netflix region to UK to then be able to create a UK Netflix account.
Then you should be good to go.
What device will you be using for Netflix?

Ok, thanks for the reply. I didn't think of using the service to be able to sign up for Netflix, I presumed I'd just ask a friend to do it for me. Some of their site relates to pre Europe Netflix launch.
If your using Apple TV (I dont know too much about it myself) then you may want to check that your able to get the Netflix App on it from your location.

Ah, ok - that makes sense. I have the latest Apple TV with the most up-to-date firmware and I can see the Netflix app on there. It currently says that it's not available in my location but I presume that once I set the DNS to that of the unblock-us service I'll be able to access it. Thanks for your response.

Yes it will work with Unblock DNS.
You can use a UK Netflix account to access US, CA, Brazil and Mexico Netflix.

After you signed up to Unblock-Us, change the region to the UK Netflix, go on netflix.co.uk, set up your account, when it's done, you can change the Netflix region to the US Netflix

That said, I would personally set up a US Netflix account (if you have a Visa or a mastercard it will work, it works with mine and I'm in France). The reason why I'm telling you this, is because the region thing on Unblock-Us is new, pretty much still in beta.

Don't get me wrong, it works just perfectly, but, you never know what can happen in the future... Maybe Netflix will do something to block the region change or at least limit the access to other Netflix.

They allow a Netflix account to access other regions since you're supposed to be in the particular region (not the one of your account). I'm afraid that they kinda ilimit the thing if they see accounts being in the UK, in the US and in CA the same day for example...

I'm not saying it will happen, but, we never know...and since your primary desire is to have access to the US Netflix...

Except that you are in a topic who's talking about mutiple access to different Netflix regions

Hotsport shield is a slow VPN, who "only" gives you a US VPN, no access to different Netflix.

Also, with Unblock-Us you can have access to US restricted websites/services on different devices like PS3, AppleTV, Computers, Mobile devices etc... every device where you can modify DNS can be used with Unblock-Us.

So yea, hotspotshield can give you access to US Netflix, but your statement was "hotspotshield do the same thing as unblock-us for free", but it doesn't

BTW, it's not because I express my opinion regarding to your first post that I'm charge of anything. You are on a public forum, where people come to get informations, reading your first statement gives wrong informations to people who don't know that kind of service, that's why you have to be careful with what you're writing.

I've just signed up for the free trial but I'm a bit stuck

It keeps saying I'm not set up with their DNS. What on earth does it want me to do, there aren't exactly a ton of instructions on the site so I'm obviously missing something really obvious

I've tried the click here to set up and downloaded the thingy but now what?

You have to change the DNS on your pc or the device you want to use netflix for. You will see a list of devices under How To Set Up. Click there first and say you want to watch on a PS 3 then click that and a very helpful video will explain what to do next. The message you see is telling you that you havent set up their DNS on the PC you signed up on. I am using Netflix on Apple Tv and PS3 but did not cahnge the dns on the pc. So eeven when I change regions it still tells me this on the pc. What device are you using to watch Netflix. Believe me I was new to all this only about a month ago and was just as confused. But some of the others on here are far more technocally minded than I am and have been doing this for ages. I hope my reply is sufficient but im sure some of the others may reply too.Have a lookthrough this thread form start to finish as well. You will see I asked a ton of questions and it helped me get going. Its well worth it. NF is really great. Having the extra regions opens up a whole new world!
